Okay, you want to sanction forgiveness on student loans? Then you need to go way back and reimburse those of us who busted out A$$es off paying back every single penny of our student loans!!!! Every single person that benefitted from SL and paid back in full deserves the same consideration. And no matter what tax bracket they’re in. If passed on, it goes to their survivors.

The problem is that student loan debt doesn't just apply to educators. A sweeping bill needs to be passed that applies to all Americans, and we need to have a complete reformation of how we even DO education in this country.

So, to make an analogy of this.... Imagine if you will that there was some terrible disease that killed millions, and there was no vaccine at the time it did so. Then, 50 years later, some scientist discovered how to beat it. A vaccine is created that will essentially wipe the disease from all mankind. Does that mean we should prevent people from getting the vaccine in the future just because people had to suffer before? The suffering of the past should not dictate the suffering of the future. How selfish do you have to be to think that way?

They need to reimburse us also. We worked our asses off to pay those loans back and they harassed until we did. And it shouldn’t matter what tax bracket anyone is in now, either. You are so right about being unable to purchase a home or much of anything. I don’t know about anyone else, but I got hounded to pay that damn loan back and I was just starting my career which didn’t pay jack. This makes me so mad. They only give student loans to American citizens, right?
