Thank you for this wonderful long form dialogue, which gives you Aviv, Steve and all of us the opportunity to delve into some of the richness of the Evolutionary model that Steve is describing. I have been following his work for many decades, and I totally agree with his analysis and hopeful outlook. Thank you both for an honest and passionate dialogue conducted in a manner that didn’t allow differences to override the subject matter. It seems to me any form of meta-movement would have to hold contradiction in an atmosphere of ‘third vector’ logic. I think we sometimes underestimate how much the logic of the excluded middle governs our conversations. In the development of modern science to post-modern 20th century science it has moved into deeply conceptual realms that defy ordinary logic and have taken on the character that many have seen to approach spiritual domains. It has critiqued its own classical assumptions but cannot make the move to observer inclusion because this would deny its own method. Third vector logic would of course be an esoteric concept and sits at the core of Hermeticism. But I do wonder whether Christ as Logos was in some sense third vector made flesh. Is the esoteric Christ some pre-figuration of an evolutionary potential? I do hope that the conversation touches upon the subject of evolution which is in need of a serious update.

Well done gentlemen. I too love how careful Brendan is and have enjoyed watching his growth even since we talked together about a year ago. I wonder if you are aware of the work of Rudolf Steiner especially as relates to the threefold and fourfold aspects of reality? From a phenomenological point of view the excellent Herbert Witzenmann has extended the 4 fold into a basic structure of organic forms. I love how you frame the threefold as exo, meso and esoteric. I will suggest as relates to the last part of your dialogue that the power of explanation of cause and effect is truly most clear and powerful from the esoteric perspective because it is a participatory consciousness in the coming into being of form. One can experience this just at the level of a non presumptive epistemological process. Thank you for your work. I will now explore your channel. You might love to talk with Jordan Hall as his mind works similarly to yours.
@PortalsofPerceptionАй бұрын
Thanks, @jeffbarney3584. Your observation that “the power of explanation of cause and effect is most clear and powerful from the esoteric perspective because it is a participatory consciousness in the coming into being of form” is, of course, exactly right, especially when it can be perceived as such in the inner cathedral of the initiated. So yes, there is a whole conversation in this one line from you. We are building pathways into these realms in the Current Openings series: portalsofperception.org/current-openings-series/ As you scroll down on the episode page with Layman Pascal, you will find the Fifth Quadrant conversation published on the Integral Stage: portalsofperception.org/portals/a-conversation-with-layman-pascal-part-1-protecting-the-sacred/. About 42 minutes into the conversation, we offer a brief reflection on Steiner and Gurdjieff as esoteric pioneers who represent what we are hinting at in the idea of a Fifth Quadrant, which is a frame that allows me to release not just the limitations of a materialist and physicalist view, but also the possible limitations of complexifying emergentist explanations for soul and consciousness. In the next part of this conversation with Brendan (recorded directly after this segment and to be released in late January), we delve into the Transfiguration through an esoteric lens. Brendan gracefully offers further inquiry and gentle resistance, the essence of which I would describe as an invitation for validation pathways. There is a delicious challenge we are facing in endeavoring to bridge and integrate the esoteric lens with traditional scientific perspectives. We have just recorded six hours of content on this conundrum, which I describe as the verification problem and the knowledge authentication challenge. These will be released in the spring in four segments: two in the Universalis series portorsofperception.org/the-homo-universalis-project/ and the other two in the Current Openings series. Best, Aviv
@jeffbarney358428 күн бұрын
@@PortalsofPerception @PortalsofPerception I had already found that conversation with Layman. You truly bring the best out in him. I can tell you would resonate with Steiner's Christology. It is born from and on his epistemology as ontological. Jonael Schickler before his tragic death accomplished a treatment of this: Metaphysics-as-Christology-An-Odyssey-of-the-Self-from-Kant-and-Hegel-to-Steiner. For me the first esoteric move is an epistemological one. It seems clear that Steiner's experience of the mystery of Golgotha was engendered by his epistemological work as process that discovers as consilient experience the organizing principle at work in the cosmos. One also discovers in this practice the role of the thinking self. Steiner achieves this in what Witzenmann refers to as conceptional high art similar to what Beethoven did with Goethe's scientific work via Schiller's "Letters..." It is crucial that Christ took on a personality and carried it through the threshold and into matter and into the ascension. I am grateful you are working on the bridging work of the esoteric perspective with the so called natural scientific one. I am also grateful for Brendan's invitational presence. As Blake said "Opposition is true Friendship". Intimacy is crucial to the scientific endeavor. I think you would also enjoy Brendan and my mutual friend Matt Segall.

Thank you @jeffbarney3584, This reflection, inspired by your comment, serves as a starting framework-what I call “loom-work” in my methodology. It outlines key considerations that can be further contemplated and developed over time: 1. Entryways into Esoteric Insight and Appreciation: How do we create accessible entry points into deeper esoteric understanding? Traditional pathways-such as mystery schools or rigorous spiritual disciplines-help some individuals pass through the initial thresholds, but many encounter both external and internal barriers that prevent them from stepping through the first gate. Genuine access to something like an “Akashic reeling” experience is rare. What process modalities enable this kind of authentic discovery and encounter? 2. Shifting Contexts Across Time: How does the pursuit of esoteric appreciation differ today from a century ago? In what ways have we changed-socially, culturally, technologically, economically, neurologically, and spiritually-since 1924? How do these evolving contexts rewire our capacities for, and responses to, esoteric potentialities? 3. Evolving Sense Organs and Sense-Making Capacities: Which sense-organs, perceptual faculties, and interpretive frameworks have withered, and what new capabilities are emerging? Are certain subtle organs of perception and discernment becoming dormant and/or ossify, while others “come online” in response to new cultural and psychic landscapes? The meta move begins with conceptual abstraction. The esoteric move emerges within a connective presence that unlocks octave leap elevation. The former arises through a mental portal, aiming for precise comprehension; the latter emerges from a vibrant luminescence that fuels connective knowing and transforms thinking into a generative quest. 4. From Esoteric to Mesoteric and Exoteric Bridges: How might we extend the “ladders” of esoteric knowledge outward, bridging into more accessible, mid-level (mesoteric) and even mainstream (exoteric) arenas? While the classic “psycho-activating” transmission approach by teachers still has value, it also faces limitations. I’ve discussed some of these issues in the Post-Guru Era - portalsofperception.org/portals/an-end-of-an-era-and-a-post-guru-world/ and in the Guru Trap, and the Golden Shadow - portalsofperception.org/portals/the-teachers-journey-the-guru-trap-and-the-golden-shadow/ . What new models or methods could serve as more effective catalysts? 5. Conductive Ecologies of Practice: How can we design and cultivate conductive experiences and ecologies, and communities of practice that offer uplift to deeper insights without bypassing the necessary stabilization and embodiment work? Why might these new ecologies and fields of connectivity be appearing now, and how do they serve as accelerators for meaningful transformation? 6. Evolution of the Human Soul: How is the human soul evolving to support these emergent possibilities? Why now? As the “Portals Into the Soul” work progresses, I intend to explore these questions more fully, and the “Universalis” series will also address related issues. 7. Platforms, Access, and Experimentation: What can and cannot be accomplished within the constraints of platforms like KZbin, and what alternative spaces or formats can we cultivate for deeper exploration? In the coming months, we will share several recorded community events that emerged in the “Portals Into the Soul” work. They will all be serialized at the bottom of this page: portalsofperception.org/portals-into-the-soul-series/ The modality we’re testing involves shifting among three modes of engagement: 1. Offering brief, focused teaching moments; 2. Employing contemplative inquiry practices; 3. Fostering conversational and dialogical explorations. Through these endeavors, we hope to support a “distributed discovery space” in which revelatory insight can arise from many voices. Though easier envisioned than realized, this approach recognizes the importance of communal explorations as initiatory crucibles for deeper understanding, enhanced transference, and connective communion. Best, Aviv PS. Looking forward to connecting with Matt Segall @Footnotes2Plato

We live through a very dense time of unpredictable political and geopolitical strife and machination, where conflicting and intertwined forces and interests may cloud our vision of a viable future. Despite the foggy and often ominous horizon of modern culture, with the help of developmental philosophy and the search for truth, we can foresee the early signs and sprouts of a forthcoming cultural renaissance. Understanding the dialectical relationship and fight between the different historical worldviews to frame the values around which we form our identity and program the way with think, is key. This conversation is very thought provoking: one of the questions that came up in me was: how can we ensure that, having updated our unique soul once, and again and again, ready to update our soul as a community - mutually inspiring updating both communally and individually - how can we stay true and loyal to our originality, whilst longing to synchronize our souls with a spirit of community that is so needed in this world? What does it require from each one of us, and how can we stay open to the opportunity of each of us expressing our uniqueness, whilst being moved together? An epiphany i had through watching this Q and A was that the musicians - whom i had witnessed and listened to earlier that day - those, who seemed most in touch with their inner lives, their soul and all that goes with 'being a human and expressing yourself', that they also had the deepest impact on us, the audience. It seems a contradiction, but it is not. And maybe this registration of inner conductivity of the musicians also holds the key to answering the question(s), posed earlier..? It was thoroughly enjoyable to see you sail freely through a first 90 minutes, to then relax another rich half an hour into more quiet waters.. deep and still and to watch you throughout the whole session expose and unfold the ways you work with your mind. We are estimating that there is enough fuel to hold many more conversations..

If you have not become vegetarian you have not entered the portals of spirituality and can't live in mother earth. Spirituality begins with taking care of other life forms. The main goal of nature is to convert meat-eaters 🍖🍗🦴to plant-eaters. Food has to be produced through the soil. the biology of the human body is meant to be herbivorous and not carnivorous. God is in everything. **** If one kills animals and eats then they will be killed by viruses or bacteria or natural disasters ****🌊⛈️😮😮 🍊🍏🍎🍒🍉🥭🍅🍓🍐 *WE ARE THE EARTH* *"We will change with the earth and earth will change because of our actions"* - Althea Sky Viroqua, WI When we as humans create things that are bad for the EARTH and will pollute nature then we are polluting ourselves and possibly destroying nature on EARTH and all that comes with it for our future generations of the human race and animals and plants. The EARTH asks us to know what to do, to figure out, how to be most efficient in keeping it healthy and alive. The EARTH knows how to take care of us so we must know how to take care of the EARTH. In taking care of ourselves we take care of the EARTH. We must see the beauty in the EARTH and realise that we are a part of it. We shouldn't try to change it because we want it a certain way or because we might be sick of something. So everyone should Ask every day,mother earth to forgive you for whatever you did in past against her.😢 🍊🍏🍎🍒🍉🥭🍅🍓🍐 Those who eat meat are ingesting not only the flesh, but all the hormones of stress that are released due to the animal's fear as well. Thus, many people brought up in the traditions of the East prefer to live on plant foods, which are more conducive to mental equipoise. Many enlightened beings, saints, mystics, and spiritual teachers have traditionally advocated a vegetarian diet for spiritual and moral reasons. For those pursuing a spiritual path, a vegetarian diet is essential for several important reasons. Following the vegetarian diet can help us achieve the health and purity of our body, mind, soul, and planet. We will not only be contributing to peace for ourselves and all life, but we will also be doing our part toward making Planet Earth a haven of joy and peace.❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Ask mother earth to forgive you for what you did in past knowingly unknowingly against nature
