I’m well aware of his backstory, which actually supports me.. he suffered abuse and trauma, and is still probably repressing it inside of him and trying not to recall it. Now he is at least experiencing happiness and getting to live a better life. And besides, being a murderer doesn’t mean he can’t be visually appealing! :)
