Hello! Kids' stuff is a very particular as we don't know what you compare to. There are several low-cost places where to get that kind of stuff, check for example Pepco or KIK brands. They have shops in every Polish city, even the smallish ones. Also, most of the things can be ordered on-line with home delivery. In Poland, we have Allegro e-commerce platform and it's very competitive!

In America when you rent an apartment you pay for the first month, last month, and a security deposit. How is it in Poland?
@wellcomehome15 күн бұрын
Here, at the beginning, you usually pay 1st month rent + security deposit. Then the payment is done monthly. How is the standard security deposit amount in US?
@solaries818514 күн бұрын
@@wellcomehome Thanks for the reply 😊 ...In Los Angeles at least, the security deposit is equal to a month of rent.

Hi, which city would you say is best for a family with young children to live in?
@wellcomehome29 күн бұрын
Hi! We'd always say: "Katowice"! It's relatively "small" but has everything essential. Lots of parks for long walks, easy to commute, way cheaper than Kraków or Warszawa.

She is the sweetest lady 😂❤ you just want to give her a huge hug for all the free and great info provided. I fell in love with the country two years ago and I fell in love with a Pole almost 10 years ago 😂 and after our holidays there, we actually want to move to Poland now. I appreciate all the info, so much. Learning Polish now, it's not easy! 😅 But hopefully worth it. I know I would get by with English, but it is more respectful to learn the country's mother tongue in my opinion. I already understand a lot, speaking is a whole other topic😅 subscribed❤

Also , my entrance door has one lock that cannot be fully locked as the hole in the wall only lets the lock go half way. Is there a requirement that entrance door has 2 locks and how soon does the landlord have to fix the broken or poorly installed locked
@wellcomehome26 күн бұрын
There isn't, unfortunately... as for the damage, as soon as possible, but you never know when it is. Responsible landlord will do asap, but there's no official requirement

Where can I turn if the internet is included in the rent and the quality drops a lot? I made a lot of complaints, they fixed it but after a week it's bad again? It's going on for months. I would like to threaten them that if they don't fix it permanently I will turn to the authorities. I checked Consumer Protection's site but I didn't find landlord-tenants relations.
@wellcomehome2 ай бұрын
Hi! We're very sorry to hear that issue. The question is: did the Landlord confirm any minimum speed limit or other characteristics of the internet? In general, in Poland Landlord is not obliged to provide an internet connection, in most cases, it's on Tenant's side.

I have a question about BBQ on the patio. Would it be tolerated to let's say smoke a small 3-4kg pork shoulder (Bostoński tyłek) on a small patio? Pork shoulder can be smoked faster than beef so roughly 3hours at 150C smoking until 73C and then wrapped and cooked without smoke roughly 3 hours until 91C. It's customary in my family to make smoked pulled pork tacos on Tuesdays and a week of other pulled pork dishes like 15 bean soup.
@wellcomehome3 ай бұрын
Hi Matt! That sounds delicious! As for the BBQ, what kind of patio do you mean exactly? Is it a house patio or an apartment one (next to your neighbor's apartment)? According to Polish law, it's not forbidden to BBQ on a patio as long as it doesn't produce smoke and doesn't disturb neighbors. Also, some neighborhoods may have their own terms and forbid BBQing on small patios. We don't know how your BBQ works so as you said: it's rather about being tolerated than legal advice 🧐
@mattzukowski12073 ай бұрын
@@wellcomehome Please see the citation. Smokers do use smoke. Ideally no more smoke than using charcoal. It is NOT more difficult to BBQ (4) 4kg so I would hope neighbors would tolerate the smoking in exchange for meat. Here in Washington the fishermen hashed out techniques to smoke salmon in a way it's shelf stable for at least 4 years. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYfGmoelZayVpsU

What is the winter safety inspection of an apartment called in poland? Who does it? Who do you contact to do it if no one came to inspect your apartment before winter? Are there agencies that we can contact to come over and inspect your apartment for you?

Also, if an apartment is causing health issues, how can you find out if there are allergens in the apartment or that the apartment is safe to live in?
@wellcomehome4 ай бұрын
Hello! There's no obligatory winter inspection in the apartment itself. Landlord may take care of the proper central heating start (if the furnace is within the building/property). As for the health issues, it's really difficult to find the right person to verify this as allergens are not the subject of technical supervision.

Thank you. I have a question. When you renew long term lease for another year and continue to renew, is the landlord supposed to do a round of deep cleaning between renewals?
@wellcomehome4 ай бұрын
Rather not. If you renew the contract with no breaks, you're supposed to take care of it. Landlord may do the deep cleaning when tenants switch and before a new one is moveing in

Hi. Thanks for the detailed video. I have a question. I am a foreigner in Poland and I own an apartment. But I am moving out of Poland and I want to rent out my apartment. What are the rules to do so? Since I will be moving to another country in EU, do I need to assign a caretaker for my apartment? Please let me know.
@wellcomehome5 ай бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for your comment. Officially, you don't need to have any official caretaker if you are able to manage the flat-related issues. But from our experience, it's really difficult to be a good landlord without being around. Apart from the legal stuff (rental agreements, move-in and outs) there are also daily things like: regular maintenance, possible damages, tenant rotation. Definitely, it's better and way more convenient for both sides to have someone to take care of the apartment and also, to be entitled to sign the documents on your behalf. Check our last movie to know more landlord/tenant situations. Cheers!
