can i ask you a serious question? im a motor guy so literally this has always fascinated me. you build a hot motor for the street and you blow a hole on a header gasket and can crack a head break an exhaust valve or worse. but yet boat motors can run water over these same parts and not explode. i see no water coming in to the headers. but i see water coming out and hear the gurgle. but the headers also look dry at the exhaust flange so seriously where is the water passing into the exhaust on this one. cause to me it seems very close to the exhaust valves. i watched more and i think i seen the water in on this one. is it going into the collector but not mixing with the exhaust on this one?
@donziperk9 ай бұрын
Those are jacketed headers. If you look at the headers where they meet the head at the bottom you can see where the water is pumped in.

@@johndownie4420 i appreciate both of you guys in the comments. see what i knew of boat motors when i was growing up alot of them cooled the exhaust through the outboard and then dumped it into the water but these newer boat motors are alot fancier than ive been around. i like my fun cheap and on the street or in the yard. but that being said i have a re surging interest in boat motors for a few reasons. i love 2 stroke and want a 2 stroke v8. so im out here doing some broken research. i also have a gm based v8 in my daily driver toy. it would actually take the marine intake off one of these boat motors and make my motor better while retaining fuel injection. pretty cool if you ask me.

Has that 3 speed trans in it and holeshots everyone. Wached him finally give in to a race on Banks lake From a stud cat with 3 300s on it..not right word's but you know the boat he holed him to about a hundred and let him catch up and pass then floored it and blew by the Guy. When they were back the tunnel had to pay the gas bill and while they were talking I heard how fast were you going and he said I was at 118 when you blew by me... Later I asked him how fast it goes and he said I don't know. I'm not even on the Gass in 3rd and over a hundred is a little interesting... By the way you might know the Catalina race boat called Dragonsbreath?????
