It has got to be overwhelming for kids and teens with great talent to rocket into stardom and "celebrity" and all the nonsense that gets into it, including fan response. It's weird enough for adult stars. And young talents have that thing of starting high up and then where do you go to top yourself or people's expectations. Add to it that a young person's voice and looks inevitably change, and the industry (and fans) can be really fickle and nutty about it. I don't know how young talents get through that. I don't know how adult talents get through it. And dang, you have to want out of the fishbowl to relax and just be yourself, a regular person. But there ARE stars who make the changeover successfully. -- I really hope a new talent just starting out, like Benicia Bryant, always keeps that love for music and performing, and doesn't get crushed by the industry or personal problems, including expecting too much of himself. The nature of a creative talent is to want to do better, more, to grow. Please remember that just doing what you do is a process of growth. See how others kept going and keep going. Mistakes and successes alike help form that. Growing from a teen to a young adult is filled with wacky experiences you'll look back on and laugh and cry and hopefully like a lot. I love this guy. He’s a star. However, here’s something for him to consider. So far, every song I’ve heard has a sameness to them. They’re all introspective ballads. I really want to hear him break out of the box he seems to be creating for himself and do something very upbeat, uptempo, light-hearted, just fun and happy. Something like Can’t Stop The Feeling as an example.
