The Battle Hymn of the Republic, More like The Battle Hymn of the Magic School Bus. If Mrs. Frizzle had a soundtrack for her secret private life, this would be it.

David Bandman is the Maynard Ferguson or Miles Davis of euphonium players.
@aaronberns84852 жыл бұрын
Why do people say the euphonium isn't a jazz or orchestral instrument? It was literally made to be the star of the show. The Euphonium is the king of the winds.

David, that virtuosity reminds me of only one player on Euphonium... Rich Matteson... Great work on writing and performing this solo!

This is just off the euphonium charts. I don't know of many players who could play this. An amazing performance.

Hey Director, move aside. They don't need you waiving your arms at them. Sorry, a pet peeve of mine. I know it's a military thing that you gotta be there, but please... Wait, at 2:40 you moved. I apologize:) The band sounds great and, of course, Bandman is amazing. I don't know Eshelman, but he, too, is a great player. I love hearing low brass players who can do this stuff. Thanks. Oh, conductor, I really do appreciate the work you guys do. I'm retired from the Air Force band. Although I did play with the "Note" on several occasions, I directed the Keesler, AF jazz band and the Travis AF jazz band.

You make me sick. I'm gonna break your legs next time I see you:) I love the recording. Well done, my friend. I don't wanna hear Paul Stephens complain ever again about the stuff I write.

Dave, is this young lady related to you or did you just record this?

He has a hard time with the low notes.... He must have had a concert while his trumpet was in the shop.

This has to be the best playing that has ever been performed on a euphonium. Amazing. Who else has the consistent range and clarity of tone at the speed that Bandman plays? No one...I suspect.

I love euphonium but it's just too warm and round of a sound to be in a place like jazz. Maybe the baritone horn. Perhaps valved trombone?

Have you seen Rich Matteson? He was a great jazz euphonium player. Check him out!

Jimmy Johnston I love jazz euphonium. I'm probably being biased because I play it, however I think euph would sound amazing in a jazz ballad.

Sorry, that's a pretty silly comment.

@@nams2571 haha lol. I agree. I guess flute, Curtis Fuller, Tommy Dorsey, Lester Young, Lee Morgan, and so many other also have no place in jazz🤣... Thats sarcasm lol

Maynard Ferguson still rules the music jazz world. He could play any instrument moving from various sizes mouth pieces with out effort. The euphonium is the perfect jazz instrument. It’s soft sound makes it perfect in a jazz location. And of course, timing is everything.
