Bear sighting was a good surprise. Wonder if the campsite near that place is safe from wandering bears or not? Did you have any arrangements for safety in case of a sudden event of wild animals attack? You said it right that the bear cub being there means mama bear is around and they are aggressive.
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND8 күн бұрын
Bear is the primary concern and we have bear spray and bangers, and no food / smelly stuff outside.

Hi sir, I am driving from Toronto to Calgary next month. My biggest concern is gas stations, how did you find open gas stations in ur drive from Toronto to Calgary over midnight?
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND Жыл бұрын
Hi, I have the total breakout in my Part 1 & 2 videos. If you are traveling overnight, then time your stops accordingly and also carry a 20 to 25L gas can. Between stops in the overnight trip you will find 1 or 2 roadside gas stations open.
@MS-vq1hu Жыл бұрын

Nice you have a Gazelle Tent... Curious as to the reason for having the additional tarp on top of the rain fly?
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND Жыл бұрын
Helps to keep the tent dark 😃 and reasonable protection from the direct sunlight and heat. Also, during rain some extra cover on the sides of the tent and entrance. The tent fabric itself has no issue with rain.

Hello.can you please tell me all the details, like from where did you get your camps and is that a safe spot for camping?what about the toilets? Is there any toilet near the camps?
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND Жыл бұрын
The Tent & Gazeebo from :: redbearoutdoors.ca/wordpress/ As for everything else or similar kind, you will find all the Amazon Links / References in the DESCRIPTION section of the video. All Provincial Parks & Nationals Parks have toilets, Shower & some with laundry facilities. All parks have vault / portable toilets and depending on the campground there will be a nearby full toilet & shower facilities. If you refer to the Campground MAPs, they will show all the details and layout. As for safety, they are secure but wildlife risk varies for each park. Details also available when you check-in at the Park office.

@SIMPLE_OVERLAND Жыл бұрын
It was last week of December. Have extra fuel if you are driving overnight as almost everything closed overnight. Else make sure during day/night tank full between Sault St Mary and Wawa. Better cross Sault St Mary and Wawa during the day, scenic stops and scenic drive.

Salam aleikum. MashaAllah love the story. I have watched your Road trip multiple times to prepare myself. I am driving 3days from now to Calgary on my own unfortunately so I’ll have to take overnight breaks I was wondering if you could give me an idea of how the road is most of the way. Is it two lanes each side or 1 lane each side and any tips to keep in mind in
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND2 жыл бұрын
Walaikum Assalam, Insha'allah you should be good as you are driving daytime. Lane is a mix primarily in Ontario. Once you are in Manitoba, till Calgary it's wide open road. Enjoy the Sault St Marie to Thunder Bay and albeit cross during day light, as this route has some amazing sight seeing options, with lots of mountain climb & steep descent & turns on the road. As noted in my video, after you cross Sault St Marie, 198km there would be no gas station. Spend 1st night in Sault for the sight seeing route and then calculate the rest of the night stops.

Thank you brother for documenting your trip. Which highway you would recommend 17 or 11?. I am planning to move from Montreal to Calgary next month
@SIMPLE_OVERLAND2 жыл бұрын
@Mustafa Smeir, HWY 17 :) . Also to add, HWY 11 I am not familiar with but have a plan to take that route for overland experience. Next month there will not be challenge for snow weather effect on HWY 17, so no issue. It's a wonderful scenic drive, plan to cross it in pure day light to enjoy the whole drive. Start from Sault St Marie early morning, then the whole scenic drive will be something to experience with ample stops. If doing overnight drive on the HWY till Calgary, as I mentioned, rest & gas stops are 99% closed after midnight, so plan accordingly.
