Nice vid. I cobbled something together that is light, battery life forever and imminently readable in sunlight. Also completely configurable. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3PFqp6JrZ6Iq5o

I was just at Oludeniz (Turkiye) again and it was thermally but punchy little buggers, wing collapses (and that's on my little wing!) and tossing around. None the less I made it over to Kayakoy but I really miss the lovely BC thermals!

Are there any ongoing annual fees to pay for the upkeep of any common areas, or lifts, stairs in the apartments? Ie owners corporation fees or strata fees , sorry unsure what the fees may be called in other countries
@sandrainthesky10112 ай бұрын
There is a small monthly fee for building maintenance / cleaning etc, and we're about to pay annual Taxes, not sure what that will be. Right now we're also looking at getting a plumber in as we're having issues with the drains. Strata is almost nothing really though, about 300 YTL/month which is less than $200/year

Did I mis-hear, you are a 63 year old lady 😮. Good for you. I've been flying 20+ years and I'm 77 now but was flying on the coast near where I live in the UK just a couple of weeks ago. Congrats on 1st.xc. I remember mine. I went to Australia with just 50 hours, 19 years ago. flew Mystic, a comp site. Someone there said to me next time you get some height try and go somewhere. One flight I had 5,000 feet above take off. I went. 😊. Not a great distance, 10k maybe, and I've never been an amazing xc flyer, my best about 40k in the French Alps, but it's great. That area looks great to fly in, I'm so jealous. Have fun. Stay safe. ❤

That 2. climb !!! So you made a vario? You say you do not have an altimeter so the tracklog is from the phone then? I use an phone (XC Track or LK8000) and a little gps with bluetooth powerd by P.V. and battery. XC tracer GPS mini III and ( since I "lost the XC tracer into the wrong pocket 😀) altso an Stodeus UltraBip. Both U can set up the sound on a PC. Nice to have the thermal sniffer from -0.5 to 0.1 or what you prefere. It's a bit challanging to learn a new program so I am mostly using LK8000. (since the dark ages ). And then I upload the track from there with GPSDUMP into XCONTEST. But if you don't use any of those i had taken XC Track. So a used android about 5-6" is inaf.

To drive on the hill we checked a guy with a suzuki 4 wheel and payed him 10 DM. (today 5 Euro). Nice flying there, but to cold around christmas. Spain is better at this time

this is so good Sandra! nice work! I work with CG software as well, so seeing these DIY videos mixed with your paragliding videos is great! I got my P2 license last year and also taking the SIV with Jocky in Sep-Oct. Thanks for your inspiring Turkey videos! and something to try, photogrammetry (with a "dust" coat for reflective surfaces) is a good alternative to lack of a scanner if needed in the future. Cheers!
@sandrainthesky10114 ай бұрын
Great, we'll likely cross paths then! You're in for a fantastic time! Hmmm hadn't thought of that. Nearest to that for me is stuffing it into a scanner, which sometimes works haha!

Nice work Sandra & thanks for sharing - I really enjoy your DIY project videos. These look really neat! 👍 I'm sure you're well aware already, but as a note to other viewers - be very careful using pliers on any metal paragliding parts as it's fairly easy to create burrs which can damage / weaken lines. Better to use a spanner when tightening maillons and always inspect them for burrs / sharp edges afterwards. You might also be interested to explore TPU filaments which make flexible parts.
@sandrainthesky10114 ай бұрын
Yeh I guess I should have mentioned that with the pliers. They're really dull and old hehe.

Oh yes I had considered TPU but as stiff as it is would probably pop out. I will give it a try though ;)

Hi Sandra. Quick question… Wondering if you’re still enjoying your Nova Itus harness. Difficult to find much information. Thanks

Yep, mine is the small and it is indeed small. If in doubt about size, go one up. Anyway, the pack size is very compact so you'll need to concertina for sure to get it in there. I'm using a somewhat oversize reserve and it fits no problem. Did you see my vid on the Itus? I need to get another harness as going to leave this one in Türkiye and it will again be an Itus. ;)
