Hey Wade, how can I sign up or book one of these adventures? This looked like so much fun!

And was all your equipment provided?

Hi Darren, take a look at the MCSA Calendar to see when the next "Kloofing" adventure is. It's mostly in Afrikaans so you might need to translate if you don't read the language, but feel free to speak to the event leader and ask if you can join on the next one: stellenbosch.mcsa.org.za/en/calendar/ Although we do have a decent amount of gear for use by beginners, we typically won't invite beginners on to the slightly tougher or more advanced routes, but keep an eye out for the "Beginner-friendly" events. E.g. If you look back on the 17th February, there was a Varingkloof Beginner kloof, where anyone and everyone was welcome. The club is filled with enthusiastic and kind, helpful individuals who will happily show you the ropes.

Most of the members own their own gear, but the club does have a large inventory of useable gear for other club members. If you, as a guest, request to join along on an event, they will happily bring you along and show you the ropes (allowing you to use the club gear). For a small guest and equipment rental fee. Disclaimer: The club leaders are not trained mountain guides, and do not accept payment for guided skills or lessons, but purely for the use of their gear. Joining an MCSA event as a guest is purely at own risk, and it is the responsibility of the guest to ensure their own capabilities and experience levels before joining an event. Be honest to yourself and to the event leader, so as not to put your life or the lives of other group members at risk.

Classic Wade: Goes the wrong way at the airport - proceeds to summit Kilimanjaro. And Brad I was waiting for the high heel on the rock wall ;) Jokes aside, this is a very inspirational adventure, and great editing. You guys should be super proud to accomplish such a mission! :D

Very much so. From 4000m you really start to feel the affects of altitude on the body.
