Thinking about taking this exam after passing the Sec+, BTL1, and having 1 and a half years of XP in Cyber. Reason? Boost on my resume as nobody is calling me for interviews as I've been looking for remote roles only and with this currently market, they only want unicorns.

how does the victim network communicate with the splunk servers if they are on different networks?

In this short she doesn't actually any the question. If i click on a video that says how do you get into something than i expect to have that question answered by the end of it.

If you're having issues connecting to the domain: 1) control panel 2) system and security 3) system 4) advanced system settings 5) computer name 6) change 7) member of: LAB.local (or whatever your domain is 8) login with username and password from created user in DC 9) restart

comptia trifecta is the holy grail. if you can't commit to passing 4 multiple choice exams, then you're definitely not ready for hands-on. by the time you get the trifecta, you'll know what you want to do or at least where to go to find the answers

Would anyone know if the majority of the course content is in text, and if it is, are we talking about (60% text - 40% videos) or more for the text part?

Man , we need to know how you get to work on Amazon, and is it a remote job?
I'm currently studying for the A+ exam. The video lectures I'm watching at least are attempting to provide video démonstrations of the things they're explaining, but I definitely agree that it's a lot of theory and not enough practical application. I'm hoping the A+ certification will at least help me get into IT in some way. I've been doing a more technically oriented job for the last year thankfully, but otherwise, my resume is all retail or fast food. I am exhausted with the glass ceilings in retail or fast food, and I feel that IT has the potential for more money and better fulfillment out of my career. I'm also getting tired of some of the ridiculous BS at my current job, but hopefully it'll serve as a good launchpad for a job I actually want to be doing.

The point of taking the CySA+ is to increase your chances of getting a better job as BTL1 gives you the skills but not the HR recognition. I hold it and it looks nice on the resume, but that’s all. Especially in this market. They are not looking into BTL1 unless whoever is hiring you is in cyber or unless you have years and years of XP. if you have less than 3 years of XP, BTL1 will only be a line on your resume. That’s my Own experience so far although it gave me good knowledge. Cert is good. I’d do it again and I’d encourage anybody that wants to be a blue teamer to take it. But bundling with CySA+ might be good. I hold BTL1, sec+ and net+. I’m an information security analyst and have been for 1 and a half year. Before this I was an IT technician for 1 year. Applied for over 500 jobs but nobody noticed me. Only 1 interview. Been using several different resumes, ate compliant and everything you want. Nothing. I also have to confess that I’ve tried applying with a fake and perfect resume just to test but nobody called. So it might be just the market. That’s why I’d still encourage anybody to take it. Cert itself is great.

How can you expect a generic certificate to be practical too. The are too many different tech products which claim to do the same thing. This is when you need comptia certificate to identify the features in those products and test using the concept information learnt from Comptia to bend the tech to your client's needs. You can not learn everything from a book.

Great video! One thing worth noticing about transitioning to leadership / management in IT. 2/3 years ago, when I had jus finished my Master's in CS, I've got a proposition to take a role of helpdesk manager (I've been helpdesk technician for 4 years). I was wondering a lot if I should take it (I've always been a technical guy, never interested in leading the team before and wanted to transition rather to SOC Analyst). Finally I took that role because of financial reasons (that gave me an opportunity to become the only breadwinner and let my wife stay at home which was a big goal of mine too). After being three years on manager role I feel huge burnout (doing what I'm not interested at all, failing here and there in management decissions because of not having natural predispositions for this). Before transitioning to leadership/management, ask if youirself if it's for you. Learn from my mistakes, not yours.

I 've completed Mike Meyers' A+ course, which I found incredibly helpful-even for those who already have some knowledge of computers, mobile devices, and systems, but bother to get the certification. I also earned the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and am now interested in DFIR. I'm considering this roadmap: Sec+ -> BTL1 -> CCD & PJPT (though I'm unsure which to tackle first). Any insights you could share would be greatly appreciated!

well done, i think smaller companies might look for experience, larger companies are happy to grow you. so if one is jumping from one role to another, one would have to do that in bigger companies. Is that correct?
@DayCyberwox12 күн бұрын
I think it's vice-versa actually :). It just depends on the role, company and specific team.
