"Okay, this [unclearly-defined stage of the unclearly defined proccess] is done." What a colossal waste of time.

when DCP gets created it must either contain all interop reels which can be packaged to SMPTE, or it must contain SMPTE reels which can be packaged to SMPTE DCP.. your reels cannot be a mix of both interop and smpte.
