Ran across this video by accident. I never knew how much one could learn about a caster technology in one day. Your presentation was actually enlightening and if I ever do buy casters for a prep table, I'll be sure to come to you guys! Your presenter did an excellent job!

Is it ok to let a workbench sit on 4 casters in a static position or will that be bad for the wheel?

i got a stem that stayed put while the caster popped off. no problem, just use pliers. not coming out. ok, vise grips. still not. it rotates both directions freely, and can even push in and out an eighth of an inch. what is going on with this? i tried pulling one of the good wheels out and same thing, stem stays put. i went back to the one i need to replace. it’s getting mangled by pliers. I’m losing my patience and ready to grab a sledgehammer and a face shield and beat this entire chair into a hundred pieces

I have limited strength in my arms and I've really struggled with the total-locking brakes on my cabinet's castors. I want to get castors for my computer desk, but the top-locking brakes look like they are much easier to turn. Is this the case?

I am looking for bulk 2 - 3” poly wheels that the bearings can be changed if worn out. I am making Dog Slatmills. Each mill will have 20-25 2” wheels with say a 1/8” gap between each wheel for each side. 40-50 total. Do you have cheaper wheels(don’t need $$$ ones I don’t think for this project) that will not cost an arm and a leg?

Casters from big box store make a lot of noise "rattling" around. Loose tolerances in the swivel & axle it seems is the cause. Do higher quality casters have this issue?

I've used the cheap HF 8" wheels on bicycle pulled carts and trailers for decades. They wear out fast (About 100 MILES!) So there's that. But other than bearing failure from poor lubrication, what's the problem with "speed rating" these for 15 MPH? They're all occasional use to satisfy the upper 5% of load cases. BTW I had the best luck, least maintenance, longest life by recycling full-sized plastic mag style wheelchair wheels. The solid rubber tires eventually stretched and came loose - and replacing them costs way more than a Thrift Store Chair. But for Zero maintenance and long service life - that's it. Just a bit noisy.

How about when you buy and self assemble a cart, and a back wheel falls off? I did that, after two wheels broke and fell off my previous cart. Actually, the newer cart eventually lost a wheel, spring, pins and hub cap. I had to buy another cart.

2 things. I would love to see a drill powered level adjuster on these foot pads. Another great feature would be if you could prevent the caster from swiveling. i roll my wood lathe outside and I need 2 fixed wheels on one side and 2 swivel on the side facing me

to put the wheels when its rly tough, you can put it while its in standing position and have a sit on the chair, your weight will do the job, but to do this you have to be careful.

Dude, you show how to install a Caster that the stem is in. Show me how to install a Caster onto a stem when the stem is already inside the chair. I have a chair where the stem is already in the chair. I need to know how to install a stemless Caster wheel onto a stem. The internet has nothing that will help me. And I'm getting very frustrated and angry about it. I've been looking for months. And I find nothing.

WD-40 did the trick! I’m so excited! Only, I couldn’t put the cover on, it was just too big. Fits without it. WD 40 and a great grandmother with emphysema just did it without a hammer! I love me some WD 40! Yes, I do! Thank you so much for showing how to do it though. The older I get, the more I need a bit of guidance. LOL

I want something that I can use on asphalt, sidewalk & epoxy floors. The casters I have now make a ton of noise, some from the wheel & some is from play in the bearings etc... What do you have for me???
@CasterHQ
@CasterHQ 6 ай бұрын
I would go with a Thermo Rubber Wheel it’s a gray non marking thermo engineered rubber. Doesn’t leave streaks, soft to absorb shock, very quiet, and is great on all of those floor types especially floor protective on epoxy. We have them in all sizes light duty as well as medium/heavy duty. As far as bearings go, there is always going to be some play and movement/noise in a roller bearing, if this is an issue I’d always recommend going with a precision ball bearing which is also an upgrade you can choose on our website when ordering casters, reach out to us at [email protected] or call us at 844-439-4335 and we will help you more.

Should the spring be compressed before mounting? I have sloping ground. Do I install wheel to touch ground at lowest point and it compresses as it goes uphill? That might lift the gate too much. Do I install wheel at uphill (closed) position with spring adjusted for level gate ?
@CasterHQ
@CasterHQ 7 ай бұрын
For mounting a spring-loaded gate caster on sloping ground, it's typically best to install the wheel so that it touches the ground when the gate is in its uphill (closed) position. Adjust the spring tension so that the gate remains level as it moves. This setup helps ensure that the wheel properly supports the gate without lifting it too much as it rolls uphill. Starting with the wheel touching at the uphill position allows the spring to compress appropriately as the gate moves downhill, accommodating the slope while keeping the movement smooth and the gate well supported. This method avoids excessive lifting of the gate, which can occur if the wheel starts at the lowest point and compresses further as it moves uphill.
@KenPaulsenArchitect
@KenPaulsenArchitect 7 ай бұрын
@@CasterHQ Thanks for this advice. So I'll mount the wheel in the uphill closed position with just enough tension to keep the gate level. With about 4" of grade, the wheel might not touch the ground when fully open. I guess that's okay.

When threaded T-nuts with prongs come loose or fall off after installing them in furniture like chair legs, there are a few solutions and precautions to take into consideration: ⚫Add Adhesive: For added security, apply a strong wood adhesive or epoxy in the hole before inserting the T-nut. This helps to lock the T-nut in place within the wood. ⚫Use a Screw: Hammer the T-nut into place and then secure it with a small hinge screw in the center of the cross shape to prevent it from backing out or rotating. 🔴We did not use these methods in the video but highly recommend both to ensure the t-nuts stay in place and that you are a happy customer.
