The initial improvement could be a lot of fun to watch in disc golf; it's relatively easy to progress quickly. I'd say where these guys currently stand it's MA3/MA4 respectively (which is the lowest competing amateur divisions). I'm here for Golf and here for "the boys" so whatever they do sounds fun.

I know this is just a fun match but isn't a lost ball typically stroke and distance unless it's in a staked hazard ? When we hit a questionable shot in matches we typically play a provisional to save having to go back.

Question I ask every first time golfer at Wailea Emerald is this. If you go long on 10 or 17 and end up on the opposite half of the green, is it still at GIR ? (holes share a large green with a huge hump in the middle)

Keep trying Matt. I think it's not about distance, but proximity to the hole and putting. Looking at this round, your bad holes were caused by wayward shots trying to maximum distance and then the recovery didn't get close enough to save your pars. It's likely you can't count on Brad to have a horrible day so he'll shoot around par or 1 or 2 under nearly every time. I think you have that in you so work on the "short" part of the game and you'll be competitive.

Matt can absolutely beat him in 9 holes from red tees, but I think he needs to just use 3 wood off the tee, not necessary to use driver with red tees. As long as he’s not losing balls OB he’ll have a decent chance.
