well i didn't had crash repport for psylab yet, wanted to give a bit of time, but i think its pretty close to rc now :), still double checking but should updtate to 1.27 this weekend i think witth the latest stuff, wich is not on website version yet. (but ill send ya the vst3 on pm if wanna test), think it will be the "final" vers and i will move to psyphaz now 1.3.027: _New raster cv menu allows to simplify a curve number of points with best fitting algoritms. _Sampler will now load stereo files without merging them to mono. so on osc can pick either M, L or R. if pressing "make stereo" on poly mode, Left voice will play L of sample and R voice R. _Poly mode can now operate on 4 different setup types: 4x unlinked (default): each sound is independent poly 4 : 0 controls all sounds. 01|23 : 0 controls 1, 2 controls 3. 01|2|3 : 0 controls 1, 2 and 3 are independent _Curve Editor : New Vectorizer Process menu "Vectorize": allows to reduce a curve nb of points. for ex simplify pitch/amps curve when generated from a kick sample. or rasterize/convert a curve when its not bezier to bezier. _Curve Editor: can now import a recorder automation to a curve Process menu "import seq lane". means can for ex record automation, convert it to bezier and simplify with the vectorizer. _Curve editor: added bit more padding to make it easier select close to bounds points _Flanger and Phaser minimum reate can now be set to 0. (this allows ie assign custom lfo, manual flangers etc..)

the resolution is adaptative to lengh, so that can be 64 steps(internally linear interpolated) per bar, or 1/2 beat ect. so if need hi prec can set on beat and 64 steps per beat should be way more then you could reach with mouse i think. not sure about second part tho sry^^

@@23fx23 OK! About the second part: the reason for my suggestion is that maybe you're not using the sequencer, but would still like to "record" your parameter move to an envelope. Maybe someone is using PsyLab for a bassline or as a sampler, then maybe they don't use the sequencer at all!

@@retromograph3893 but your not obliged to "use sequencer " notes for ex, thing is recorded data got to go somewhere to be stored, somewhere that is synced, and internally it is in the "sequencer"

but you can totally not use seq notes and remote from daw midi as normal, the seq is just the "data storage", responsible for recing/replaying in sync

@23fx23 Thanks, I took a look at the video, sorry maybe I missed something, does it work with audio input too? I mean, Psylab has a stereo input, can it process the L/R input channels simultaneously and independently to get a stereo result?

no the current version merges the two voices to mono yes, (as before 1.3 there was no stereo), originally a long long time ago that was supposed to be just a kick lol and all the path was made mono, so problem was even if sample was loaded as stereo, all the chain of fx would need to be stereo as well for that to be preserved till the end.. so now that there is that "make stereo thing" i have to think back the system to load L on s0 and R on 1 or something i think

@@23fx23 OK! That solution is a pretty decent workaround if the plugin architecture doesn't allow true stereo (for now). I'm playing around with it but i can't get it to play back a sample in stereo. What is the correct workflow? I change 4x unlink to poly 4, and then select "init all". But then it still plays in mono. Do i then need to do something with panning to get it stereo, or some other setting?

@@retromograph3893 the problem for now is samples LR are merged to mono on load, so you cant really, unless you prep two separeted L R files.. i need to add buttons and rewrite sampler stuff so we will be able to pick l or r on sample import

@@23fx23 Maybe you need to make a Poly 2 mode, so that we can play a stereo sample in sounds 0 & 1 (and have them linked), but then we can still use 3 & 4 separately? And then also have that option to "split stereo sample to 0 & 1" option on import and also set the panning automatically.

yeah actually the 2 big XY pads in sequencer tab kinda do the first part already,( they can map and record any of the xxx automatable parameters, as soon as mouse is on them and stop on release), but yeah i agree that converting to bezier then would be nice bump, and would need something to auto remap all the stuff in background yeah.. Brainmodular usine had such system for a while, ( not pure converting to bezier, but along those lines.). i will think about it yep, should be possible now i think, at least "convert " a seq record lane to bezier cv could be a thing

I was thinking about it when making dubstep-style basses: i would do some modulation with my mouse which would sound cool, then try to emulate it with an envelope but was never very happy with it. It lacked that "performance" feel. So then i thought, wouldn't it be great to be able to capture that movement and transfer it to an envelope!

@@retromograph3893 yeah same here i included recorder in psyphaz too for that reason, even if we got daw automation, i , really want that "instant" live tweak feel, just mouse down and bam it recs.. but yeah then the "raw" datas points is a pain to edit,.. converting to bezier would give best of both worlds indeed i like that idea. will def be on the todolist^^

@@23fx23 Cool, i guess simplifying the curve while still keeping the character of the recorded movement will be the challenge, but if anyone can do it, you're the man! Some DAWs have a "simplify curve" option for automation which works pretty good, so it must be do-able. Anyway, thanks, great that you're so receptive to suggestions!

oh nice,( im also working a lot in afx/houdini), guess thats why we love 'true' beziers hehe :p that one i was challenging.. but yeah quite happy with results :) like when importing a kick can nicely clean env fast now, or 'raster' some other non bezier modes ect, stuff like that

didnt see second part, yeah atm its still 1024 pts max. Sadly the way i build the cvp presets a long time ago, make that would break presets / backward compatibility if i would change now. I need to reflect on find a way to build some kinds of 2.0 cvp wrapper or something

@@cosmic_trickster essaye tet de mettre une note dans le seqencer, et d'allumer "infinite" dans amp settings

@@cosmic_trickster la pour le moment c'est comme si c'est un oscillateur, du coup il prend les amplitudes des notes, adsrv ect, mais prochaine version jpense ve faire que c'est tout le emps on ça sera plus simple

I actually really like the interface of Psylab, the only thing I find a bit small and annoying at times are the pitch and amp envelopes in the parameters section, but I tend to use the main AMP and PITCH curve pages more that those so no big deal. Psylab is just soooo powerful, so many options, filters, waveforms… stuff… love it !!

aha thx for nice words, psylab was stated quite a long long time ago now, took me more than 5 years i think.., even tho i go much faster now daw is on another level , if i had 10-15 years to spend i could prob write a daw lol yeah

I can't even find the word :) by the way, I listed all my favorite, in my opinion, the most outstanding plugin developers.

Many users moved to other daws precisely for this problem. Ableton team please consider to put a serious effort to fix this

@@spinlud_xyz the funny thing is that I moved to bitwig because it had better core functionality (proper PDC, plugin sandboxing, etc), but now ableton is looking more interesting for production because bitwig doesn't want to address their lack of QoL. now I want to move back to ableton but without at least having proper PDC I can't really go back, I'd be fine without plugin sandboxing. it seems like all DAW devs are collectively making a joke
