So many people don’t realise how dangerous these cliffs are

Great video! One of the best showcases of center parcs Longleat I’ve seen! Seems like you two had a great time as well, one of me and my families favourite holiday spots in country.

So sad to see..is this still England?? Will it always be like this in the summer, all brown and scorched? And floods in autumn and spring? Terrible

I miss running up this huge b*tch like you wouldn't believe. I'd run from my home overlooking the port (next to the pub where Lord Lucan hid before he disappeared), along the old disused railway tracks, along the path next to the shingle beach lapping the shore, past the abandoned pillar boxes, when we thought the Germans would invade under Operation Sea Lion and power up this hill like a mad man on pervitin

Scientists have discovered that the White Cliffs of Dover once stretched all the way to France. A chalk ridge over 20 miles long and 330 feet high between Dover and Calais held back ice melt water from the north, as the ice age started to melt. The overflow - formed seven giant waterfalls over a mile in length. The land dam was eventually breached and collapsed, causing a "megaflood" which created the English Channel we see today.

I’m considering swapping my flat for a flat in Seaford, but there don’t seem to be any places for residents to park if they don’t have their own private parking space. Not sure yet if that will be a deciding factor. Could go without having a car I suppose. Seems like a nice peaceful place to live though. So nice to be so close to the sea too. I love bracing winds. Life affirming 😊 Dudley and Eunice would probably have persuaded me stay indoors though. Thanks for the upload 👍🏼 Hope no one was hurt.

Great footage! I was wondering if you are able to post a bit more footage of your drive along the seafront heading east. At about 58 seconds it cuts to another scene. I am keen to see how it affected my house / garden (Dane Close area), so would be good to see the whole drive along the seafront. I am in Australia, your video was a good way I can see the impact of the storm on my house! Many thanks.

Hi John, Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, I don't have any footage driving further along. I was using a GoPro 9 suction mounted and voice-controlled and that's where I ended the clip. I just took a series of short clips and put them together. I am sure the weather is much nicer in Aus this time of year and hope to get back there at some point.

Was that the bit where there was large crack/fisure visible for a couple of years? (which the Council roped off, and then forgot to put back when the rope fell down and the cliff subbornly refused to fall down!) :-)

Ony just got the max but so far I am really happy with it. I used a super long pole I bought of ebay. It came well considering the poor light today.

i had a paddle the other week before the fields (on the north of the road by the meanders) got flooded and wanted to get to the plough and harrow in littlington but it wasnt an obvious easy carry so i just made my way past alrfiston, maybe its easier to get to the pub now the water level is higher.
