Thank you so much for this video. I got my Toyota 6600 about 10 years ago used.for $65. I was the third person to buy it. So I call it third handed. Anyway it was always a struggle and today I got it out and found the blue thread was a problem. Thanks to your awesome video I only had to correct that thread and it works like a charm. Love your setting suggestions. I'm in Aston, PA. Would love to have you over for a coffee or tea.

Thank you for this video, it was very informative. As a newer sewist, I'm wondering if the same procedure would work for putting in draw strings in sweat pants? I bought some that I didn't realize didn't have drawstrings, & I'd like to add some. It seems that I could open a seam, cut the elastic after putting some safety pins on it, add some drawstrings, & maybe a button hole for the strings to go through? It makes sense in my head, but I'm not sure about the process, & I don't want to mess up the pants. Any help you could give me would be appreciated 🙂
@pindropshop7 күн бұрын
Hi! Thanks for watching! Yes, you could definitely use a bodkin to insert a drawstring, potentially without having to do a lot of ripping, depending on how your pants are put together. Buttonholes for the drawstrings to come out of would be ideal, if you do end up lifting up the whole waistband. If there is a seam right at the center front, you could pick those stitches open and use that opening for your drawstrings instead :) Just maybe reinforce the stitches by hand so it doesn't continue to rip. Good luck!

@@amilan409 I've never seen it on a coat or jacket. You could try removing it if it feels weird!
@amilan40926 күн бұрын
@pindropshop yeah it's weird that they put it in a coat, it's a coat from unique-vintage, it's their red Barbie coat, made to look like the coat that Barbie wore in the 1960's.i think they added it since it's a swing coat, they thought it would give it a nice shape
@pindropshop26 күн бұрын
@@amilan409 Oh cool! Yeah it's usually added to make the hem have a voluminous shape and not just lay flimsy :D

There is an adjustment screw for the pedal pressure, if that helps with take off speed?

I just bought this at a Thrift Store. It was $80 but I talked them down to $40 because the hand wheel does not turn. It was 1/2 price day so I paid $20, but so far I haven’t been able to turn the hand wheel. Using PB Blaster on all moving parts, and hoping with patience I can fix this wonderful machine
@pindropshop29 күн бұрын
Hello! I would suggest you take it to a machine technician. They will need to access the gears and get them free of any hardened on grease etc. PB blaster might not be the best choice, plus you probably aren't able to access the real issue by spraying it into the hand wheel. Machines do need servicing after sitting unused for a long time, especially if it's been exposed to moisture and temperature changes. Good luck and congrats on your find though! I hope you are able to get it freed up!

hi there! thanks for this very helpful, and easy to understand video! i just got one of these from goodwill and it seems to be in pretty great shape, but it is missing the needle clamp screw. do you think ebay is the best place to try to find a replacement? also, do you recommend a sewing machine oil for this machine? thanks so much in advance, i appreciate you!
@pindropshopАй бұрын
Thank you for watching and congrats on your new machine! Ideally it would be great if you could get a service technician to get in there and get the gears a cleaned out and greased, etc since it’s probably been unused for a while. For oil just use anything that is specifically for sewing machines. Don’t use any other type of oil. Just sewing machine oil will work. For the needle clamp screw you can check Sewing Parts Online as well as eBay and other sources around the internet. Just try to be sure it’s a match to your machine model 😁
@pineapplemojo28 күн бұрын
Thank you for the reply! Appreciate the advice! I already ordered one needle clamp screw online that looked right but turned out not to fit so I think a service tech is probably going to be necessary 😅
