Great video. May I ask why are you using the severe OCI? I bought a 2024 and have been doing my own oil changes. So far I have about 13k on the odometer and I've done a few oil changes primarily a break-in and then at 5k and 10K. I'm considering going to a shorter interval because my daily commute is less than 15 minutes each way daily and I live in a cold climate mountainous terrain. Would you mind providing where you got the screw in funnel? Thanks for sharing!

I would like this to be a 300,000 mile car so that is why i'm doing the 3,750 initially change intervals especially under warranty, I will back off to 5K at some point. I do drive more highway when I do go out. but work from home sos the miles I put on our lower and so the oil changes are still months apart at 3750. the oil change funnel is ASSENMACHER OFSU1042

@WX4GPS Thanks for the timely response. I'll order the funnel. I am also leaning towards the 3750 OCI. Happy Crosstreking!

I test drove both a 2.0 and 2.5. Ended up with a Limited because dealer sweetened the deal. There's definitely a difference in noise level. I thought it was the engines themselves. Didn't realize lower trims don't have the insulation. I hope Subaru didn't make the insulation from the same material that Toyota did with theirs. Two recent Toyotas that I leased had rodents tearing the engine bay insulation to shreds. Great car. My first brand new car. Hope to get 200k miles out of it. Good luck.

I had only the CVT solenoid issue on my last Subaru for 171K, just make sure PCV is one of your maintenance items every 30K-45K its easy to do yourself and 5K oil changes and filter, Coolant, plugs, and differential fluid can be done yourself if are comfortable with doing oil changes, just need a pump to put it back in. and I think 200K is easily attainable. If you live in a snowy climate that real instill confidence in driving. Just have to still worry about the other drivers. Good luck with yours.

@@WX4GPS I owned three Subaru and all had crap head gaskets, as well as other problems. Subaru at the time did nothing, so they are a crap manufacturer. I paid for a car and got crap. Now I know. All three are in the junk yard, while I still drive the kit I bought in 1963.

Although I applaud you for changing your own oil on your Subaru, it was really hard to see exactly what you were doing. For anyone who is changing the oil on their Crosstrek for the first time here is some basic information you need to know: Oil Filter Part Number: 15208AA160 - Tighten Only Hand Tight Oil Weight: 0W-20 Full Synthetic (I recommend the Idemitsu which you can get a 5 quart container from the Subaru dealer or Mobile 1) *2.0L Requires 4.7 US qts **2.5L Requires 4.4 US qts Oil Pan Crush Washer Part Number: 11126AA000 Oil Drain Plug Torque Spec: 29-31ft/lbs Also keep in mind SOJ's recommended maintenance intervals: Subaru of Japan Maintenance Recommendations: Oil: Drain and Fill Every 5,000 miles (I highly recommend 3,000 though to prevent oil consumption) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGOyepyal8uKesk Spark Plugs: Replace every 60,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ_QaHufrdabjLs or kzbin.info/www/bejne/hInLqYGLnqmeY7M Serpentine Belt: Inspect and Replace every 60,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHm3e2h7qcutntk Air Filter: 12,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYnNYmBpq5uJa8k Coolant: Replace every 8 years or 80,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2LcaoiXrNqIlbc CVT Fluid: Drain and Fill every 3 year or 36,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/l6jWhamCZqiFm68 Front and Rear Differentials: Drain and Fill every 15 months or 15,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipXKZIebhZtrhMU Brake Fluid: Flush every 30 months or 30,000 miles kzbin.info/www/bejne/pGKxp6eLrMuFgMU Tire Rotation: Every 7,500 miles or every other oil change kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHbQpKqOmrZseck As a side note you really should be getting the OEM filter that came with the vehicle when it rolled off the line which is made in Japan by Tokyo Roki. Part Number: 15208AA160 which you can find here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CLZ1X565/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=A16OVF05M5A76J&psc=1 Subaru of America's own "Subaru Blue" oil filter which was used in most US Subaru dealerships are actually FRAM filters in disguise and alot US dealerships have since gotten ride of those filters as they caused poor oil pressure which is what caused the oil consumption issues (or well part of it) Also, if you walk into any Subaru Dealership, they will most likely sell you a black filter however the new ones SOA Dealers are selling are from Indonesia which still do not meet the required oil pressure these motors need. Remember, these are Japanese cars. SOJ and SOA have different standards and it's important to go with Japan's as they are the ones who designed these cars. If you want to learn more about Tokyo Roki filters, MrSubaru1387 also talks about them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGK1dGhsmd93grs You'll find the Subaru Community is extremely welcoming and helpful. We're all here to help each other learn, especially with maintenance. I hope this information helps you and helps any of your viewers as well and welcome to the Subaru community!

shut down the radio and then reboot the radio..

Never found a fix, just power the tune off a separate supply.

Mine has power through the harness to the tuner, and the tuner will work if I push the tuner button on the tuner, but when I press the push to talk or tuner/call button the tuner is put into bypass mode. Am I missing a setting in the radio to make this work? I’ve replaced the cable with a newer version.

Have you figured anything out with this? My 7100 also just had an issue with the same tuner. It was working fine. Then the "Tune" icon disappeared from the screen and the tune button does nothing but make a beep.

Determined if I plug in a 12 Volt wall wart to power the LDG it seems to work fine with the radio. This has been how I am using it. Not sure where the fault lies that it can't power the timer any longer.

There’s something wrong with your mini. Because 5min video should be rendered at half the time of the video. I’ve done multiple test and this isn’t accurate. I have the both 8gb and 16gb ram M1 mini and they both cut 4K footage in half the video time.

Colour correct the footage and maybe add a lut and do a white balance on both machines and watch the difference....

You blew by setting frequencies and tones. I am an infrequent user and you are simply pushing the center buttons. And what is a "PL" ... redo, please. Explain. This presumes we know a bunch more than some jerk with a W/T. You say "menu" but hit QUICK SPCH. C'mon, give a guy a chance.

Hello Ron, I just saw your video, was everything working fine before the spark? because I also have a Z100 and IC 7100 and cannot run the Z100 with this transceiver. I had the same problem with the IC 7000 while the Z100 works fine with the IC 706MK2G.

Hi, Ron. Thanks for your video! I had a same problem yesterday while on my mobile operation. Moreover this tuner worked fine with my IC-706MK2G but not with IC-7100. I think that maybe while at tune proccess ICOM lowering not only power output but also a voltage in TUNER jack. Or maybe Z-100 is too old for new IC-7100. Yesterday, sometimes I was able to tune Z-100 from TUNER button on IC-7100. I press button for 2 sec several times and may by for 4th or 5th time it funaly tunes my wire... But thanks anyway for avdice to use external power source. Tim RL6M

Hi Ron, I'm Jeremy from Davis Instruments. I created the WeatherLink Skill for Alexa. Sorry, but touch interactions interrupt the speech output of Echo devices. The WeatherLink Skill is using a simple visual presentation technique referred to as Cards in Alexa terminology but even if the Skill is updated to use the more sophisticated Alexa Presentation Language the same speech interrupt will occur on touching the screen. Self scrolling text is possible with some limitations but I need to look into it more.
