Training incorrect (lateral) energy for tools intended for use with forward energy further complicating and confusing how they are used isn't particularly helpful...

I do the JKD footwork and do a bit of a dance, always moving out of the centerline of the opponent. Nonetheless, your articulation of the shifting is very useful. Thank you.

I’ve been interested in George and his school for some time and have perused his book online. Now that I’ve read this article I’m going to order his book.

I have over 20 years in Jun Fan Gung Fu & JKD, (along with Wing Chun & other arts like GJJ) and I haven’t seen anything wrong with the techniques he’s teaching. I was confused at first by Sifu George’s use of the term “Gates” (which I believe he is getting from Randy Williams, who I think has kind of over-complicated a very simple system in regards to his organization & classification) whereas I would classify these, and how they are classified in Sifu Inosanto’s 1966 notes as a progression and later as “Series”, such as the “Loy Pak Da Series”, etc. The only reference I to “Gates” I have seen officially in the Jun Fan & JKD method is the Wing Chun 4-Corner Gate Drill and the 5 Gate (Ng Moon) Series. And generally the connection or “Bridge” points were generally: 1. Outside to Outside 2. Inside to Outside 3. Inside to Inside with those being able to be done from a high reference point or low reference point.

JKD is the best in my opinion. At least for me. I trained JKD for a short time in 2005 and then started WingTsun/WingChun due to a move. I trained WT for years until I reached the 1st teacher level. Today I can only say: Bruce Lee's philosophy was exactly the right one!!

I'm no fighter but who t f is THAT limp and relaxed in a street fight? I'm guessing nobody. Even pro fighters say they are scared, nervous, etc before a fight.

Thank you very much, another great video. Can you please explain to me, you mentioned the first kick is 'Jit Tech' front kick or snap kick. Then you mentioned 'Jit Tech' again but is a 'stop kick', is that correct?
@jovanleon72 ай бұрын
Jeet Tek literally translates to intercepting kick or stop kick. It's also the side kick. The first one he showed is the side kick to the mid section and the second one is to the knee cap which is the most practical JKD kick.

So the one inch kick is the same ability and strength as the one inch punch? Like whatever you do with the fist you can do it with the foot?
