This was the worst part of this game. They tried so hard to sell us Scales as a true menace since the beginning, but in the end he was reduced to the worst anticlimactic plot twist in the entire Star Fox franchise, and I'm pretty sure Nintendo was the culprit behind this lame decision, not Rare.

Omg... i was a real fan of starfox and lylatwars, but i never touched this legend of zelda ocarins of time clone. But what an anticlimactic ending. Im so happy that james didnt have to see that one. From the beginning of the bossfight till the end, every single bit of that was horrible In comparrison with the lylatwars endings. Cant believe someone managed to fck up slippies voice even harder. And whoever had the idea to built in the teletubbies storytelling there, i hope he gets what he deserves for that blasphemie

The ending of this game felt so hastily thrown together. Scales basically gave up and died without even fighting and Andross came out of nowhere. Falco also came out of nowhere and contributed more to the ending that even Krystal - who didn't even really get to do anything through the entire game or final battle. The ending wasn't exactly anticlimactic, but it was certainly disjointed and partially incomplete. It was obviously rushed. Had they more closely tried to follow the plot and gameplay of dinosaur planet instead of trying using only fox for the whole game, we would have had a way more fitting ending.

"RAREWARE! You are no longer any use to me!" "Who are you?! I demand you show yourself!" "I am the one who allowed you into this world! The Star Fox team could see me, but you could not." "I don't understand." "No, I didn't think you would. Your desire for a fully fleshed out game overwhelmed you, and blinded you to the truth inside. Now, return Fox where he belongs. Give him his Arwing, so he can be the space shooter he was meant to be!" "You will regret this..."

I know the details from Rare buyout and all. But from the time they were given i think they did an awesome job. They were rushed but still gave a decent suprise ending. When i first played this i was in shock when Andross appeared. It was like i was thrown back into starfox 64 with a serious shooting and equipment disadvantage, and i loved it! I was sweating and had chills as i battled Andross he was the LAST character i had expected to see. SO with all the drama going on i think they took what they had and STILL nailed it on a good final surprise, boss. He was NOT as easy as this video makes him seem lol.

It's probably more so from general rushed production because of Miyamoto's insistence on the Star Fox branding, but I like to think it's funnier to think this final battle being a letdown is a final "fuck you" to Miyamoto upstaging their entire project. That being said, they actually made a nice Andross remix for the actual fight. Even if Andross' much heavier accent comes much more out of nowhere than everyone else's new voices, so Fox going "I recognize that voice" despite not being the same voice for either of them is nonsensical.

I like to think of it, as a cool story twist that’s aged well now. Yea it was bad at the time, but the amount of politics we get in our content now, replaying this it was cool!

Am I the only one who noticed that this version of Andross is a combination of both the N64 boss(Monkey side with hands and floating brain) AND the original polygon SNES boss(both the Statue side where you shoot the eyes and the part where the monkey side shoots rocks at you & tries to suck you in his mouth)?!

I love how Andross' Boss Theme for this game is a combined heavily-altered remix of his Standard and Brain form themes from Star Fox 64. David Wise did a phenomenal job adapting them. It's a tragedy that Scales didn't get a proper boss fight after he was established as the central narrative antagonist of the game, but the fact that this game had to rush through the final stages of development before Microsoft bought them out (to hear it from the team, when Shigeru inquired if they were interested in turning Dinosaur Planet into a Star Fox game, they were gung-ho on the idea, but due to the amount of reworking required, they decided to move development from the soon-to-be-discontinued N64 over to the GameCube. About a year later, Microsoft approached with an offer Nintendo couldn't afford to counter in buying out Rare completely, which forced an artificial deadline on the game) is a perfectly understandable reason why. It's apparent in the fact that the Microsoft buyout was literally completed the day after Adventures released.

Everyone is annoyed about Scales getting tossed aside at the end, but I’m also upset that the same thing happened to Krystal. You spend the whole game trying to save her, and when you do, she doesn’t do anything. Especially disappointing since in the N64 version she would’ve shared the spotlight equally with Fox (Sabre). They may as well not even made her playable at the start, or not even have included her at all. I like Krystal, but she doesn’t really get much time to shine here. Assault partially remedied that, but it’s still weird she’s hardly in her debut game.

It never made sense to me that the Krazoa Spirits were what revived Andross. I thought the Krazoa Spirits were like Dinosaur Planet’s nature spirits, not the life force for resurrecting a Galactic Destroyer Head Monster Thingy. That just never made any sense to me.
