I camped at High country many , many times over a course of 40 plus years. Brent and Maggie are great people. Maggie even made me diner on my 70th birthday 10 years AGO. AFTER 60 years , the 470 pound Suguki 2011 DL650A is just too heavy. for me to handle so I will be car camping down there soon. I have many fond memories' and made many friends' from rallies there from the 1960s through the 20teens.

Can you share a close up picture of bracket and pulley?

Dio you think it would be possible to put a sprocket on the end of the shaft for the garage door and mount your garage door opener closer with the chain and make it work? I am going to have come with an idea on my garage door opener when they finish my shop. Thanks

I am having trouble with this design. When you put the power on one side, then one side will rise first and you will have uneven roll up. I have built mine almost identically, but can't figure how to get it to raise evenly so it doesn't seize up as it rolls up unevenly, quicker on the side of the motor. I have tried everything. But even if I release it from the motor and raise it by hand from the same place, I feel that side raise first and get uneven roll up. Still trying to figure out something so that the design will work for all applications. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just going thru some old vids and saw your comment. Hope you got it figured out. Sure sounds like you did not have the spring tight enough.

How is this still doing for you? Any issues? Any danger or hazards with the chain drive and it being so accessible? Do you have a list of everything you used to do this? I want to do the same thing

Thanks Wise1! Question, How accurate is your speedometer? Just wondering if those are speeds I can expect to be comfortable with on some of those turns. Knowing your choice of tires, I'm not sure how much that may impact the speedometer readout. Thanks!

Hey Ray, speedo is off by about 4mph. So at 60 actually doing 55-56 based on GPS.It is a little closer at 30ish. Maybe a couple of mph. I do like to hotdog now and then, like the vid following Hank on Tail of the Dragon. Beartooth is a great ride. Does get a little cool up there so be sure to have a good jacket.

Literally the worst place you could stand and operate a backhoe.
