Only the works of unsaved Christians are like filthy rags. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, he made a new covenant for his true followers. He was able to send the Holy Spirit to transform us to righteousness and conquer the flesh nature to set us free from the practice of sin, and it's desires. I think it is possibly even blasphemy against the Holy Spirit when people deny the power of the Holy Spirit to transform us to righteousness. The Apostle Paul said that we are not in the flesh if the Holy Spirit lives in us. 2 Corinthians 10:3 Paul also tells us that we have been set free from sinful desires: "For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh." Isaiah 53:5 says: "But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds WE ARE HEALED." Before Jesus came, the law that people lived under could not conquer the flesh nature. That is why people had to sacrifice animals repeatedly. The cleansing that God provides is not temporary. It is permanent. When he cleanses us from ALL sin, we are made righteous. Hebrews 7:27 says: "He (Jesus) has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself." When Christians repent of their sins daily they don't have the Holy Spirit. They are still living under the Old Covenant, because they can't get clean. Many Christians mock the Holy Spirit by saying it is impossible to conquer the flesh nature and stop sinning. They don't believe. They are watering down and diminishing the power of the Holy Spirit in their own minds & in the minds of others. They are mocking the miracle of transformation that brings us Salvation. People flock to false religion due to the corruption in their hearts. False Christians will dilligently search their bibles looking for loopholes to sin. 1 Peter 2:24 confirms that it is possible to stop sinning: "He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” When we are healed from the bondage of sin, it is permanent. "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." Scripture describes false converts as continuing in sin, because they deny the power of the Holy Spirit. 2 Timothy 3:5 "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." Scripture gives a strong warning of eternal damnation to those who reject the New Covenant by sinning: Hebrews 10:28-29 "Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?" God's grace does not free us to sin. It does not cover continued sin or future sins. It does not forgive deliberate sin. It frees us from sin. Ungodly Christians reject the gift of righteousness that God offers. False Christians cling to a doctrine of demons that tells them they get to keep their sins, and there is no penalty. This is much more appealing to false converts than the thought of giving up their sins. John 3:36 jesus said, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." If people can't understand the clear language that Jesus used, perhaps their hearts have become hardened. God, in his wisdom, does not leave us in a sinful condition, because over time, sin destroys the human conscience. When this happens, they are lost. We can see evidence of a darkened conscience and a hardened heart when people mock and ridicule the precious gift that Jesus gave up his life to bring to us so that we can recieve righteousness that is required for Salvation. When Christians reject the New Covenant, Jesus will reject them, and they will have to pay the full penalty that that the Law always required for disobedience under the Old Covenant. That means eternal damnation.

Jesus never said, "Those of you who have never sinned." He said, "Let him who is without sin." He was referring to this particular case where they were abusing the Law of Moses.

I actually saw a Christian TV show in the 90's with puppets that told this story in modern times. But I remember it being about a normal guy in modern times who wants to go to the cemetery to pay his respects, but couldn't because of a crazy guy. But he eventually learns to have acceptance for him and goes to the cemetery despite the crazy man. I guess it made it a little touchy to change it from demon possessed to mentally deranged .

Three days inside a fish? There is air inside this fish gullet? What "kind" of fish is this? A giant lung fish? Well, I guess the fish would need to inhale Jonah rather than swallow him. Jesus said it was a whale in Matthew. The whales near the Middle East are Baline, filter feeders, incapable of swallowing a man. Regardless of that, any fisherman will tell you that there is no chance of anyone surviving in the belly of any sea creature at depth for even a moment. Do you really buy into these fabrications? I mean are you a victim or a propagator of these lies? Both? You should read other books. You know, books whose only agenda is education. Anyway, thanks for posting your ridiculous lies for the weak-minded to view. If there is a god, I am pretty sure he would be ashamed of the low level production value and the complete and utter failure to illustrate what this parable is supposed to convey. Is the moral of this story that you should act on the voices you hear in your head under penalty of poor lodging? Wake up. Isn't streamed video just thousands of graven images displayed in rapid succession? Hmmm......

But I believe this book is a journey and by the time I finish, I won't I'll have a different perspective. Hopefully.

Was there a time when God stood alone before his creation? If there was NOTHING but God before his created, and he created EVERYTHING and he's ALMIGHTY then he CREATED pain, evil, sin, and the devil.

If God is omniscient, almighty, and the creator...Why would he create me to be naturally drawn towards sin when he has the power to not? Why make humans if he's omniscient? He could see our plight before he created the universe. So he creates us when he knows we'll fail. He creates people, makes them bad, then sentences them to enternal suffering.

Here's another Jonah-like story... I think a big ole black high top shoe could look like a whale. A very nice shoe. With eyes and a great big ear-to-ear smile. A shoe that someone could live in and have roommates, and even children visit. A shoe that understood your needs and could change accordingly. ------------------------------- WHAT A NICE SHOE (Twist on the Book of Jonah, Chapter 4) There once was a young woman who lived in a shoe And the shoe grew and it grew and it grew. Until one day the shoe became so big that the young woman could no longer keep shoe (i.e. keep house). So the shoe stopped growing on account of the young woman. WHAT A NICE SHOE Now the young woman had much more room than she needed so she rented out rooms to some young folks who'd pleaded. Then one day the shoe overheard them complaining about the lack of room in the shoe and the problems created. So again the shoe grew and it grew and it grew. WHAT A NICE SHOE Then it came about that the roommates up and moved away to another province and country totally abandoning their stay. So the young woman opened a daycare to fill up the shoe and hired some workers to help with the crew. But as fate would soon have it the shoe daycare was shutdown and the children removed by an edict from town. So the shoe began to shrink And it shrank and it shrank and it shrank. Now the young woman became angry and wanted to die. "Why is all this happening!", she asked. "I'd like to know why?" So God asked her this question without hesitation, "Do you have any right to be angry about this shoe? Please explain your fixation." "I do have a right to be angry!" she replied. "Angry enough to die." Then God gave her this much needed reply, "Enough with the rhymes, and enough with your reasons. Now listen closely my dear, for your comments are treasons. AND GOD CONTINUED... You have been angry about this shoe though you did not make it grow. It grew for a short time and then shrank. So all your efforts were at best short-lived. Why feel sorry for yourself? But this town has hundreds of people in spiritual darkness who do not know their right hand from their left. Their lives are but a breath on earth, and their souls are in eternal jeopardy. So shouldn't I (God) have a right to be concerned for these which I have created?" LITTLE ONES: DO NOT LET THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THIS LIFE DISTRACT YOU FROM THEIR INTENDED PURPOSE WHICH IS TO LEAD YOU AND OTHERS TO CHRIST, THE HOPE OF OUR SALVATION.

For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:3,4)

Are you suggesting Jesus endured hellfire in your place? Where does the Bible say the Father poured out His wrath and fury on Christ? In doing a study of the Biblical term "atonement," I came to realize that cannot be right, but I'm interested in hearing how you exegetically came to that conclusion.
