This is a real story! Me: um Mrs. Can I go to the nurse I need to take my inhaler before I go to recess ( you see I was just diagnosed with asthma so I had to take my inhaler every four hours and before any physical activity) Teacher : Why of course use my card to get in ( we were out side so the only way to get in is with the teachers like id thingy ) Me : thank you ( if I didn’t take my inhaler when I was supposed I had a chance of getting an asthma attack) I walked inside up stairs where the nurse was , This time there was a sub because our previous nurse quit . Nurse : take a set mkayyyyy Me : okay ? Nurse : okay just go put some ice on it ( She said that to a kid that literally had a broken arm !) Nurse : what’s wrong ? Me: oh ntg I am just supposed to take my inhaler before I do physical activity. Nurse : * lip smacks * mkayyyy come here sweetie At this point I had already been there for a good five mins and I didn’t want to waste my time so I just went . Nurse : * whips out a statoscope * Me : umm I just need my inhaler? I’m not having an asthma attack? Nurse :* literally ignores me* Take a deep breath Mkayyyyy Me: Fine Nurse : Done now go back to class . Now I was confused? Me: um miss I need my inhaler? Nurse : no you don’t your not having an issue with your breathing? At this point I was done this fat lady was not listening . Me : But.. and before I was done speaking she sent me back to recess without my inhaler A few hours later Mom : how was school !? Me : explains So basically my mom called the school angrily Mom: tells them the same story I told her I was embarrassed becuase in my eyes I had thought she was being a Karen but I couldn’t think her more for the next year in half of me being at that school I’ve never seen her again Like this if you love your parents!❤

I was thinking about joining the army and becoming a nurse, I enjoy helping people and I think the army would be good for me. What are your recommendations on being a navy nurse? do you enjoy it?

That is true… I don’t have the “luxury” to leave my nursing career. Even with my back all F*^%#ked up, and a recent back surgery, i still can’t leave. Pts are heavy, demanding, and they are just more sickly, and alot of mental issues. Future students in nursing school, GET OUT!

I can't more agree with you, you just said my words. I always want to be a healthcare provider and passion about it working in hospital when I was child, so two years ago, I went back to a community college for a nursing program. I finished all the prerequisites and minor courses with straight As but I couldn't get into the program cause my verbal part of NLN was not meet their reqiuement, so I took 3 times and finally pass the line then they told me that I am on the waiting list. it was 1 year behind of my schadaul. I mean it's pointless to exam your English again and use it as an excuse to kick you out if all the classes you took in English and you got As. the way they set up for the screening is make no sense. they should be happy for people who really want to go to school for being a nurse, they should open the door for the students and let their own grade tell if they are able to being a nurse instead of setting up the limited. I am really disapiinted about the school, they put me down. Then during the gap that I was waiting for get into the program I try to find a PCT job at hospital(I do have CNA and BLS), guess what, I got rejected for all hospitals and a dialysis center that I applied because I don't have experiences. if it was an ICU nurse position I understand they asking experiences, but a PCT who only dell with personal care like bathing, fedding, pooping, vital signs and they asking experiece is really ridiculous!!!!!!!! and if all employer refused to training and only want experienced employee, then where are the experienced employees came from? no one has work experience right after graduated from school. the hospital should be happy that people willing to do the heavy dirty job as CNA or RN. based on what I went though, right now I am thinking about change career, Nurse is not a reward job as I thought, under paid, no WLB, burn out, bully envirement........ Really so disapointed on the whole system, maybe they will change when no body wants to work in the healthcare field no more.

I worked full time as a nurse tech while in nursing school full time. My daughter was 2 when I went back and 5 when I graduated. I would go 3 or 4 months at a time with not one day off between school, clinical and work. Looking back, it’s all a blur but I pushed through somehow. It can be done and is well worth it come the end!

HCA Healthcare once again tops the list for largest health systems by NPR with a net patient revenue of over $49 billion. In addition to being the largest health system by both the number of hospitals and net patient revenue, HCA also ranks number one in total hospital square footage and number of hospital beds. As a result, HCA has had a significant influence on healthcare in the U.S. for the last several years.

Thank you for this video. It was more informative than I expected. I am torn between csi and rn degree. I’m starting college this fall and I’m trying to make a decision on what to go for. My family may think I’m crazy because I said I’m changing my life around and also going back to school after saying I’m never going back. I myself I’m in my early 20’s and I am somewhat worried about my mental health. I’m not falling apart or anything but I can’t say what i feel or better let I can’t explain it. Some days are better than others. Exactly what you’re saying in this video. I have already went to school for a MA I loved it. However I had to take a break from healthcare it was becoming too much for me. I came back and then went into the PT role. Which is still healthcare I loved it. I can say I had more problems with the people I worked with being lazy and making me do everything than the job it’s self. I went to working remotely for healthcare and haven’t looked back. I have always had a passion for the criminal justice field. Now here I am I know I want to change my life. Just wondering how I don’t want to get into something and it fails. I just might give this another shot for a rn degree. Thank you. And I wish you the best of luck you and your family you deserve it ❤️.

I’m about to be a new nurse in 6 months and every time I think about it I want to throw up. I’m doing an internship right now and I KNOW that med/surg is NOT IT!! 😭 trying to figure out what nursing specialty is right for me; either postpartum or the OR. I loved being in both specialties and the nurses loved it too! EVERY Single nurse in med/surge hates it… told me all I needed to know.

I left bedside nursing in 2020 due to poor staffing. I took a lower paying remote job with less stress. IMO, mandating an experimental jab made a bad situation worse. That was probably the last straw for many in healthcare.

One of my nurse friends has become mentally unstable, and that was due to COVID-19. She also got punched in the jaw by a patient and that’s what set her over the edge. She no longer works full-time.

Thank you for speaking on this. I'm a respiratory therapist and I'm currently in school for my MHA because I feel burned out and as much as I love working at the bedside, COVID broke me, it was the last straw that broke my back so to speak, and I've been trying to find a way to get over that mental trauma and it's come down to changing my career now. I've seen so many of my nurse colleagues quit, retire, travel, etc. after COVID. The shortages were bad before but are just being exacerbated now. I always encourage my colleagues that if they feel like they need a change I tell them to go for it because at the end of the day it's their life, and they work so that they can live, not live so that they can work!
