Nice work! Can you also redo the padding?
@lagooncustoms
@lagooncustoms 16 күн бұрын
Did that on my Honda VT 500 but that was very easy as it was straight and flat, with this one I think I would just buy a new one. The only thing I would consider doing myself would be a gel padding :)

Most people out here wanna talk about upgrading their rides, but when it comes to getting their hands dirty, they make excuses. You gotta stop looking for shortcuts and start doing the hard stuff-like THIS. Changing your grips isn't just about the bike, it's about taking control of every little thing in your life. You want comfort? You EARN comfort by putting in the work. Follow this guide, handle your business, and ride like you mean it. Stay hard! 💪🔥

av been working on my DTRE all day today , I've had a nightmare trying to get it started , I eventually found the fault , when I pressed the start button the engine would turn over and would spark but still wouldn't start , after trying everything I could think of from cleaning the carb to changing the fuel and trying umpteen spark plugs I noticed when I pressed the start button it would stop sparking after a couple of seconds or so even tho the engine was still turning over , anyways I figured out the HT lead was the fault so I changed it and the engine started sparking properly and now its firing up ,shame it took all day to find out as its too late now and have to finish it in the morning

@@TheSilverback-p9y hey how‘s it going? well thats a full day of work but also a full day of great experience! I had a similiar experience with my Yamaha XJ 750, it just wouldn‘t start and I checked everything from sparks, starter motor to compression only to find out someone had fun turning off the fuel tap 😂 well I wish you a great start into your new morning and hopefully a good ride with your DTRE!

I use wet sanding to help keep scratches down. Try using water with your sanding! When you scrape surface with knife edge, don't be the bull in china shop with strokes. Be as precise as possible in your movements. Better care with knife blade means less sanding. Cool! I was going to suggest heat gun when you brought it out!

@@timbarnett3898 Thank you very much for your advise! I will keep this in mind, wet sanding as well as being careful with the knife edge. Does wet sanding help prevent those small visible scratches that I had to remove with the hot air gun in your experience?
