good combat is not when you CAN do flashy moves it's when you NEED to do it in order to succeed, this game on hardest difficulty is so easy you can just spam one button and win everything.

I always find it funny when people call hack n slash combat a brainless button masher, it's a combat system designed around player expression, hence why they rate you, it tells you a lot about the people who classify it as such

I prefer the older FF (X/XII) style of combat. This is like "we have action combat, but our action is only flashy effects". I can't stand turn-based games, but in the older FF games i loved it.
What's that first ability you did? Edit: its bahamuts fully charged wings of light.

It's standard practice in the Armored Core series that each numbered title gets a sequel game of some kind
@HeyPachuco2 ай бұрын
It wouldn't be called armored core 7 if you put it that way, it would be armored core 16 since there's a total of 15 armored core games. But in all seriousness....He's refering to the traditional sequels to the current ones. Example: armored core 2s sequel is another age, armored core 3 had 4 sequels, silent line, nexus, ninebreaker, and last raven, armored core 4 had a sequel called for answer, and finally armored core 5 had verdict day.

Way better than pushing the same button over and over again. Old games didnt really have strategy, like you have to think a lot to hit an enemy with a weakness.

@@barabaz3359 it's fun aye. Addicting as well to pull off. The main set is phoenix, odin and ultima. Good for combos in general, movement and if u want damage there's odin for that as well. If u want a general view of what a fun playstyle would look like with those 3, search up youtuber selch lightwarden. I got a lot of ideas watching their clips. A flashy power fantasy is combat? Boring indeed. I'll tell you what's exciting. Facing a terrifying enemy, getting cornered and scrambling to find a way out, HP entering the danger zone multiple times, using every tool in your toolbox, pushing on and surviving until victory or defeat. That's what makes combat exciting. Fighting means struggling to survive.
@pauldelolАй бұрын
Except that's just you. Some people like soulslikes, like what you're describing, others like a power fantasy like this one because life is already hard enough as it is and we don't need a hard boss to make us rage even more In my opinion, games with combat system like what you're describing are getting insanely oversaturated, not helped by the fact that if even one person comes forth and says they don't like it, the community just tells them to "git gud scrub." As you can probably tell already, I tried Elden Ring, didn't end up sticking with it, because people might find repeated player death fun and rewarding when you overcome. I find it tedious, repetitive, and annoyingly cheap and unbalanced When I play a video game, I like to feel like I'm in control of an enemy or boss, not the other way around. I can't exactly delve deeper into it without repeating myself, as I'm not the best at arguing, but my point is that I like being able to experiment and choose what I want to use, instead of the game forcing me to use everything when maybe I don't like using certain tools. People that say games like this are "just mashing" shows a lack of effort in wanting to experiment with the tools that are given to them even if they're not forced to. Developers don't always have the obligation to force you to use game mechanics At the end of the day it all comes down to personal preference, but fighting doesn't mean struggling to survive, nor does it mean owning everything in one shot. It's more subjective than you think. If you really felt this game was too easy, which I can understand, either play the DLC or play the game on Final Fantasy mode. You do need to unlock it first, but if the story's just that boring to you, which to me is *mind-numbing* that someone would think that, skip the god damn cutscenes or play it on PC and get a mod to unlock FF mode instantly

Man it was beautiful. People just mash every move in a combo. But a combo shines with aesthetic, throwing enemy, bringing close, launch and dash. Like at 0:22 was predicting you gonna teleport but did the opposite. Cancels were spot on❤
