This was a wonderful video, and so many more people need to see it! 😍 At the end of January I was lucky enough* to see a presentation and watch a video with the latest update on this mission (filmed last summer, I believe), and it was so fascinating and inspiring that it's become one of those conservation examples tucked away in my mind that I want to talk about whenever the topic of where I work comes up, or of conservation and biodiversity in general! At the time, I don't think the research had been fully published so it's an example I'm keeping in reserve until I know I can talk about it ☺ * (I work at #ZSL, though in IT!)

may i suggest the Reverse Wag? ☕️ you pitch back with the cup as you step forward, and vice versa in sync with the gait of your walk. like any music or rhythmic skill, takes a lil practice. 🍃 i also tend to cary cup with hand over the whole top to bear the cup from the above, which makes this maneuver easier than always computing the pitch relative to an up-angle when you hold it asymmetrically in front of you.

People aren't familiar with Mandrakes because of Harry Potter. They're familiar with it because it's from the Bible.

The English name of the plant derives from Latin mandragora, related to the French main-de-gloire (hand of glory)

I learned by watching diner waitfolk that putting a spoon in the mug fixes it. The sloshing coffee swirls around the spoon and the swirls damp its energy.

Resonance of the swing is actually obtained if you push it when it is speeding very fast at the bottom of the arc. This is because if you use your force to push it when a large distance is travelled you are doing more work, which yields a larger e increase in the total mechanical energy of the swing.

Would you say that when we are dreaming the brain is active? If it is, does it mean one has missed out on the sleep irrespective of a good or a bad dream?

Such a clearly explained video! Thanks Atreyi. I always wondered what was going on during sleep to help the brain. I never knew that our brains get a good wash and clear out whilst we sleep, so that was really interesting to learn! Will enjoy my sleep even more now!

It really seems crazy these days, but people really did have such a different way of thinking before the current scientific method.

I use the claw grip a lot. I once had a coworker who fashioned a small wooden platform with strings attached at each corner and tied together at the top. He would carry his coffee on the platform, suspended by the strings. The resonant frequency of the resulting pendulum was, no doubt, something other than that of the coffee in the cup.

Great to hear that you had already discovered the method. And wow, how clever! That is dedication to preserving the coffee!
@danielhenderson70504 ай бұрын
I discovered some years ago that simply raising and lowering the mug in time with your step will keep the coffee quite still. It's like the up motion compensates for the forward sloshing and vice versa.

Mandragora Homeopathic medicine is most effective in treating people suffering from Acute Depression. Those who see Ghosts and hear strange voices. The people who suffered from severe mental shocks. With double personality.Another such medicine is Starmonium(Dhatura). I am a student of Homeopathy for the last 29 years. If properly administered, these medicines can treat and cure the mentally disturbed people.

So nothing to do with EMR then? What happened to our bees in the Isle of White 1904? What effect did the roll out of cell phone base stations/cell phone towers do to bee colonies from 2003 onwards? Why do house sparrows only exist in little tribes in EMR cold spots in suburbia now? And are no longer present on houses outside of the breeding months? Mmm. Tricky. But some scientists have been filing papers. But no one cares overall. Buckle up cos this rides gonna get wild!
