At 9:23, it's being shown. [Eq 1 - Eq 2] (1431.6n - 1310.4n - 1310.4) = (MW + nHplus - MW - nHplus - Hplus). Hplus mol wt is 1.007 as we know. Now solve the 'n'.

I do have one question, im doing a similar question to 4:39 and I have the percentages of the people who have each of the blood types (A: 42% B: 10% AB: 4% O 44%). I am trying to find the frequency so that I can actually substitute and use them in the actual equation but whenever I find the square root and add it together I get 1.8 and not 1, which I am supposed to be getting 1 not 1.8. How would I find the frequency correctly so that when I find the square root of the percentages in decimal form, I can add them up to 1? Please help me I have been stuck on this question for 2 days.

Dear friend, I hope you have done everything correctly. Still I am simplifying it. Here, (p2 + 2pr) = 0.42; (q2 + 2qr) = 0.10; 2pq = 0.04; r2 = 0.44. [ Considering Blood groups A, B, O are having the allele frequencies of p, q, r respectively as in this video]. So from here, r = 0.66 (approx). And now put the value of r in those two equations: You will get p = 0.26 and q = 0.07 approximately. [Surely, you have applied Sridhar Acharya Formula]. Now if you add these three frequencies, you are getting ( 0.26 + 0.07 + 0.66 ) = 0.99 which is almost 1. As we have taken all the values in two decimals. In that case, I think you have done a small mistake somewhere in calculation. Can you please try it again!!! Cheers.

You will be given all the "n''. From there, you can have the respective "Pi" for each "n". Now have the calculator and take ln for each "Pi" and you will get the lnPi.

Mistake alert: At 3:13, in the diagram, both the bacteria will be F + . As F- has already got the F plasmid, it is turned into F+. Sorry for it.

Hi. First of all I am very thankful to you that you liked it. Now coming to your point: As you know, MS actually gives the idea of m/z or you can say mass, so I think it will not be a good idea to perform MS for identifying isomers as they posses same mass. In case, I guess NMR can be helpful. In the mean time, if you get to know any specific process of MS or any other completely different method that can give the result to your desired question, please let me know here. Regards.
