Hi Casey, I wanted to share my recent experience. My blog wasn't growing at all on Google, but suddenly, just as you mentioned, I started receiving traffic from Bing. Interestingly, as a user, I've also shifted from using Google to Bing as my primary search engine. It makes me think that while this might not be the end of blogging, it could very well signal the beginning of the end for Google.

Great video Casey, thanks for sharing! Would love to know which products and video formats are working best for you, and if you have any tips on what to cover in the videos beyond pros and cons? I know you touched on this a little in one of the earlier videos but would love to get an update now you have so many more vids.
@CaseyBotticelloАй бұрын
I’ll definitely touch on this more in some upcoming videos I’ll be creating on tips and tricks that I’ve used or seen others do well (great suggestion), but I tend to focus on traditional wide format videos designed for desktop (you can actually see your purchase breakdown by device in the last column of your Amazon report). I then focus on a great thumbnail. I love graphic design but tend to stick with high quality and clearly illustrative photos (minimal graphic overlays/text as it’s somewhat overdone and can feel less authentic imo). For video content, I do change my talking points based on a quick scan of competing videos (if most videos are short in length and generally covering products from a high level, I’ll create them with a very specific question or feature in mind). If there are no competitors I might do a more broad review. Generally these videos are never less than 1:30 and never longer than 2:45. This isn’t a rule, just what seems to work for my largely single take videos. I’m experimenting with some more edited/produced videos but they almost never seem worth the time. My best videos are simple, showcase use of product, and explain how I personally use it. But for more complicated content I will do longer videos to help future proof them against competition. How many videos are you at?
@glowdiaries___29 күн бұрын
@@CaseyBotticello this is really helpful, thank you so much for the detailed reply. I have only done my first 3 videos (but got approved yay) - I was inspired after watching your video reports to give it a proper go. I’m going to dedicate a couple of days to batch producing this week. I hadn’t thought to research the other existing videos, thank you for the tip (seems obvious now you mention it ha). Good to know about the thumbnails too, I also didn’t put much thought into the importance of those. I make cooking videos and was thinking about trying a volume strategy/uploading a bunch of B roll clips from my existing content where appliances or utensils feature. I figure seeing as we can upload multiple videos for each product why not upload a lot (?). I was curious to know the lifespan of the videos / whether they get buried by newer videos or if Amazon displays the highest converting videos first. Now you are purchasing products to review, are you specifically looking for products with low video competition?
@CaseyBotticello25 күн бұрын
@@glowdiaries___ As for uploading multiple videos of the same tagged product, I generally try to avoid this, unless the videos are addressing different topics entirely. And just maker sure you're not reusing footage. Amazon may at some point view this as spam. Product listing lifespan varies. If there are no competing videos it may perform similarly over time. With more competitive video carousels, Amazon seems to use an algorithm to test showing new videos as they are added but tend to feature the top performers long term. Now that I'm buying products, low competition is definitely a factor, but this would be more of a short term strategy. I'm looking for products that are either expensive enough or hard enough for others to review, that I have some specific knowledge of. Or at least that's the plan!

It is too early to tell whether your earnings (RPM) are “good” or not…this ramp up period occurs over 3-4 weeks typically. It’s also during this period that you will begin to see less grow ads and more traditional third party ads.

Is it still worth starting a niche site portfolio from scratch in the 2nd half of 2024?
@CaseyBotticelloАй бұрын
It depends on your goals and risk tolerance. Niche sites in general are risky right now (if they rely upon organic search traffic). But if you plan to drive traffic another way (social media marketing, email, etc.) it is definitely less risky. wow the biggest takeaway for me were the problematic keywords. I always felt like my RPMs were low compared to a lot of other people even though my niche is pretty decent. I tend to use such words to put emphasis on a point such as "Getting enough sleep is EXTREMEly important. Studies have found that lack of sleep can K*LL your S*X drive." or "Social media and P*RN ADDICTION can play a role in causing depressive episodes". Now I know where I messed up lol. One question... Does censoring these words help like I just did in this comment?
@CaseyBotticello2 ай бұрын
It can help but generally these advertisers enter all sorts of kw variations so it would be best to reword the content altogether. Sometimes this is simply not possible or it makes it too hard for reader to follow. But Id definitely make sure you aren’t using these words unnecessarily. And if an article contains a ton of them, check to see how much that article is bringing in. It may be best to remove it altogether if the rest of your content is otherwise “brand safe”
@Faraz_khan02 ай бұрын

Your videos are really inspiring.. I would be grateful if you can briefly explain how to recover from the google search console update (when traffic decreases..)
@CaseyBotticello2 ай бұрын
I wish there was a clear answer to this…if it’s a loss of organic Google search traffic, there are few if any solutions (based on sites hit by most recent updates). Chances are you’ll have to make major site improvements and wait for next core update. In this site’s case, I never recovered the Google traffic. I basically replaced it with organic search traffic from Bing (and to a lesser extent Yahoo and DDG). That’s why I recommend making sure your site is properly configured for Bing as well as Google (even if you don’t actively monitor it).
@anhara.2161Ай бұрын

So MediaVine accepts AI content correct?
@CaseyBotticello2 ай бұрын
They dont want full blown copy paste ai content. But if you rewrite content, add your own unique images, and add some personal flair, it is really just a tool used in the content creation process. The bigger issue is spammy content, that’s not fact checked or blatantly used someone else’s work, and has no original material. This is basically a scraped site. And MV will reject/remove these. Especially if you are stealing content (which unchecked AI does).
@Financierpro12 ай бұрын
@CaseyBotticello I understand that but I've never stolen anyone else's work. GPT4 passes copyscape every single time
