Can I use an extractor on white shag carpet? Please respond by Monday. Thank you.

I don’t recommend it. But that’s just my opinion. I’ve done it in the past and it tends to hold too much of the moisture. Also, you should check the tag and see what the fiber content is. If it’s wool, definitely no if it’s synthetic fiber like poly propylene or olefin Then it’s probably OK as long as you do a bunch of dry passes. I like to use green dragon for the cleaner good luck.

Of coarse you should groom I recommend triple HEPA vacuuming. I learned it's easier to assert than try to explain. Rotary Extraction is the method of cleaning we use all natural ingredients Each cleaning includes pretreatments odor removal deep cleaning deodorizer and triple HEPA vacuuming is how it's Mansplained... Excellent video, occasionally people ask me if I am just using that small machine to clean their carpet when I walk in the door with my Hoover Hushtone. I try not to roll my eyes or say something that embarrasses them. I usually just say no, this is just my vacuum that I will use before I clean the carpet with the carpet cleaning machine that is still in the van.

Great video! First and foremost, you have to believe in yourself and your process! A customer can detect doubt and fear as soon as you walk through the front door. Second, You and Jr. exude confidence. Walk into the place like a boss and take care of business! Third, again and again, you dispelled the myth that instills so much fear in cleaning guys. Walk into a multi million dollar home with modestly priced SETT equipment and got fantastic results. You weren’t afraid what the client thinks, because you KNOW that they trust you as you have confidence in your abilities, communication skills, and professionalism that goes above and beyond anyone in your area. If you worry about your method and equipment then the customer will worry. Believing and good work retains clients and promotes referrals over any piece of equipment.

. 🎉🎉🎉🎉Thank you for the excellent explanation. I appreciate your words and will use them. I am particularly grateful since English is not my native language. I always display my dirty pads to clients when they are nearby. Additionally, I have a 13-gallon container filled with clear water where I place my dirty pads after completion, allowing clients to see the dirt extracted from the carpet, facilitating their understanding. Your words will greatly assist me in explaining this process

@CarpetCleaningGuysVlog23 күн бұрын
I use feel them about 90% of the time. If I open up a cushion and look inside and it is stuffed with down feathers, you definitely cannot use the hot water extraction. It will bleed through. So the VM works great in those cases as well. Just depends on the fabric and how dirty it is.
@lovingeachothernowАй бұрын
I'm a hose runner myself with hot water extraction, but when I'm done with the upholstery cleaning it's still low moisture cleaning. The way you're describing Hot Water Extraction in this video is the old way or the 'Stanley' way. I use the Sapphire Scientific upholstery tool; you just can't over wet the upholstery using the latest tool plus you flush it out to the max, it just can't any cleaner than that.

I use that attachment to do tile/grout, strip flooring and hardwood flooring and it works great.I have had mine for about 3 years and I have had no issues with it and works flawless. The outside rubber that hangs over works great to get close to the baseboards and recover moisture from the baseboards when you extract.

I had a customer who was a house cleaner for 20 years, she had light carpets with some stains but nothing that wouldn’t clean up. I had explained our process when she booked the job and she said it sounded good , as I was cleaning her carpets she kept asking where the dirt was going, I briefly explained again my process. She let me finish and I saw her pickup a white cotton towel and go in each room and start rubbing the towel. She didn’t get anything on her towel and looked upset, she told me she didn’t believe her carpets were clean, I told her to look at her white towel and that was the proof. She told me her carpets looked great and paid me but said she couldn’t get behind my cleaning process and would not use me again. She was so used to getting hot water extraction, she couldn’t open her mind to another method of cleaning.
@CarpetCleaningGuysVlog27 күн бұрын
It sounds like she was so used to the old way of doing things that she couldn't even consider a new method. 🤷♂️

lol thanks for the story 😂. I dealt with a lady that had two synthetic rugs to be cleaned. One had a big water stain. So I cleaned them, sent over a picture and said I would deliver once fully dry. She got crazy saying that I bleached the color, they didn’t look the same. I explained that the solution I used and needed to remove the water stain was a brightener and they looked great. She made a big deal over nothing once she saw them and gave me a $5 tip🤣 I said thank you, now I’m having steak and lobster for dinner. I won’t be sending anymore pictures lol.

I don't think a hot water extractor pushes things in deeper. Yes the water may go a few layers deeper, but it gets pulled out with the suction and leaves a small amount of moisture left, with most of the soap and dirt gone. That's just my theory. I think what I'm going to do is do a small experiment with a clear plastic case and half of a sofa cut in half and that put that half into the glass. Then I'll squirt some wine and see how deep in penetrates and see if the extractor pushes in that wine deeper and if it pulls it all out.
@CarpetCleaningGuysVlogАй бұрын
That's a great idea for an experiment! I'm always learning.

It’s not recommended for Carpet. However, it is fine on several different styles of carpet. I test it before I use it. I generally use the red fiber pad to pre-scrub. I have been going through boxes of the red pads on carpets, wood floor, and tile. And it’s getting quite expensive because it’s hard to reuse them when they get full of dirt or hair. So I’ve been testing the Astroturf and so far so good. They’re easy to just wipe off and rinse under the hose.
