fascinating. An insanely impractical and massively expensive idea which will NEVER solve the problem but not a mention of the ACTUAL way tornado proof houses have been being built for decades. #fakenews. monolithicdome.com

??? Inexpensive tornado proof homes have been built for decades. Why a "research project" to answer an answered question? monolithicdome.com/

Where is the mixed use? Hotels, Gyms, Shops, Gardens, Play Spaces - looks like a commercial development. Boring design.

Why not show the design that has been used for a few decades to build low cost tornado proof houses in the US? Rather than a pie in the sky design

How silly. Just build a tornado proof monolithic dome house that costs LESS to own than a vulnerable house. www.monolithic.org

Silly and expensive. Tornado & bullet proof homes have been being built for a couple of decades all of the US. At a price similar to conventional homes too.

the dwelling is still predominately underground... nothing innovating about this.

"Tornado Alley is a colloquial term for the area of the United States where tornadoes are most frequent. Although an official location is not defined, the areas in between the Rocky Mountains and Appalachian Mountains are the areas usually associated with it.[1] Tornadoes are most common here because it is the region where warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico meets cold, dry air from the Rocky Mountains and Canada, creating intense, tornado-producing thunderstorms known as supercells."

Anything as luxurious as this will obviously require a large sum of money. It's not meant for the mass majority, therefore isn't meant to replace the standard house. It's considered as an "innovation," something new, something few can afford to actually try. It's far more convenient to have everything in one safe place and live there at the same time, than to only put "some" of your property in the shelter and lose everything else.

The concept here is to live life in an shelter without having to retreat to one. Therefore you don't have to lose your life when you retreat to a shelter, leaving everything behind in a non-tornado proof house.
