KLOOK is offering a Suica card with JR lines 1 Day pass. Apparently i can buy it in my country and collect it at Haneda airport. Does it mean that this is a smart way of surely getting the welcome Suica card at Haneda as soon as I land ?
@ExploreJapanWithLila6 күн бұрын
Oh! This is a new trick to get a Welcome SUICA. Getting a SUICA without waiting in front of the vending machine is great!! I checked the Klook site. The 1 day pass costs 1,600 JPY= $10. So the price setting is reasonable. The 1 day pass covers only the arrival day. If you arrive at late night, and do not plan to go out actively on the day, it would be a bit costly. Since from Haneda to Tokyo station, one way ticket cost only 686 JPY =$4.2. Anyway, making line is just a waste of time. This is a smart option😀

It works! Thank you so much for this information. We arrived to Haneda on 6/17 and they no longer sold the pasmo passport except at Narita and they did not have the regular Pasmo card either. The line for Welcome Suica was really long. We just bought a ticket to the city and the next day we bought the Value ticket/pasmo. We were at the Shiodome location. You do need to buy it one at a time for each person. It cannot be bunched or you will end up with paper tickets. We were able to even buy a value ticket/pasmo for a child. Child card is personalized and was verified by the attendant at the station. The next day we were able to fill the card like a regular Pasmo.

Hi thanks for the video it really helped us out, but I just wanted to help out too. I arrived in Japan on Monday (last week) via Haneda airport. I asked for a pasmo passport and they was actually selling the actual pasmo. The lady told me that they aren’t doing the passport anymore and are only offering the standard pasmo. The process is the same but it’s just the card that is different upon paying. The same day I went to Tokyo station to get my friend a Suica card because he didn’t get a pasmo at the time. Went there, no problem at all to obtain one, but they did ask where we was from and we offered to show our passports but they said it was fine. Just thought I’d post this if it helps others out

Hi, I believe Suica Welcome is now only available from Haneda Airport and Pasmo Passport will cease in August 2024, which leaves foreign tourists(short term) with nothing much but paper tickets ......a huge backward step.......from where Japan was before. Where I come from(and many other countries) tourists can buy an unregistered, what you call an IC card, that can be used on public transport, topped up at transport hubs and some convenient stores.....so is there any plans to re-invent something like the Suica Welcome/Pasmo Passport IC card for foreign short term tourists. I know some say use/setup iPhone wallet for Suica but I'm lead to believe still a problem with overseas androids and foreign credit card accounts even with iPhone. We have used and recommended the Pasmo Passport in the past, which was so convenient and versatile in Tokyo and surrounds .........so easy and straight forward.........so paper tickets puts us back into the 20th century.......and even 21st century mobile phones systems can't cope...........you thoughts would be appreciated

In April, I published another tips for SUICA. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXnLe3SHbbh3pa8 Now you are able to get SUICA, also. Please refer to the contents around 8:05. First of all, get PASMO Passport. (if 28 days expiration is OK) at Keisei Service center. If you prefer regular SUICA, purchase one at JR EAST Travel center with 500 JPY deposit. From Narita Airport to Chiba Station, where Chiba-Urban Monorail runs, it would be easier and firster going by JR. It costs JPY682 and takes 44 minutes. From Chiba Sta. to Tokyo Sta. I recommend to use JR again. It costs JPY659 and takes 38 minutes. Taking this route, Keisei 1 Day pass does not work well. Since I do not know your itinerary after arriving Tokyo, in some cases, 24 hour pass of Metro might work well for you. It totally depends.

There is no difference between SUICA and PASMO in basic usage. I have been using only SUICA for over 20 years and have never had a problem. No matter where I shop or where I charge, there is no difference. There is one difference: you cannot add a subway Value Ticket to SUICA. You also cannot add a JR EAST Value Ticket to PASMO. However, Value Ticket can be bought with paper tickets, so this should not be a big problem.

So if Suica is better for Kyoto and Fuji area????

If your fly into Kansai Airport, ICOCA is the choice. You can buy it at the vending machine in Osaka/Kyoto. It can be used around Fuji area, too. (Usage on the bus is not sure...though)

Hallo. Thank you for the great video. I will arrive at haneda 22:30. Is it possible to get welcome suica card? In this video you explain that the ticket counter open 06:45-20:00. So by the time I arrive the counter already close. I just check the keikyu line still available until 23:34 from haneda to ueno station. But I dont have any IC card. Can I still purchase single entry ticket to get to ueno at that time?

Hi! The vending machine is accessible after the counter office hour. The machine sells ticket from first train to the last train. So please get a Welcome Suica at the JR vending machine. Get welcome Suica by the JR machine and get into the Keikyu platform. If the line will be tooooo long, then get a paper ticket at Keikyu line vending machine with minimum of 100-200 yen, and liquidate when you arrive at the destination station is a faster way.
