You are correct, the law needs to be updated. People who recycle say why this and not that. In California I used to have to check the juices from the 100% juices. The law is now that you can redeem everything except for milk and some places will give you scrap price and recycle it. Your videos are great 👍👍👍

The only way to make change at these huge companies is to not buy their products they very quickly change if sales drop. so a win win in the end, we get better containers and the companies still sell product. they just need a little push to get things rolling.

I was doing this. night club waitresses would have a cellar full of bottles. I would take it to the recycling center, half the money to me, half the money to the waitresses.. then the law came, that you can only bring 80 bottles. greetings from the bureaucracy-poisoned EU 🤣

We have a deposit system where i live. so many cans/bottles are returned and the street people make a living from collecting the bottles and cans around the city.
@therecyclingguy25627 күн бұрын
@@davebloggs The reason deposit sytems exist in the first place are, because initially they were implemented by bottlers as a way to incentivize consumers to return them...current legislation needs to be modernized in the states that have them and systems need to be implemented in the ones that do not have one. ♻️
@davebloggs26 күн бұрын
@@therecyclingguy256 I agree it should be mandatory everywhere but my understanding is the in the Uk for instance where people are saying we want that, it is pepsi/coke that are fighting to stop a deposit system as that would make them responsible for their own garbage, where I live i get 10 cents per container up to 1 liter and 20 cents over 1 liter, plus for milk jugs the 4 liter size i get 25 cents. it works well. many charities do bottle drives to raise funds like scouts etc and many street people it is their only source of income in many places. all over the city you will see bottles etc stood on walls, and they dont stay there long i can tell you, we dont have very much garbage etc but everyone knows to stand their bottles and cans where they can be seen.
