Just a thought; I’ve never shot or performed any gel tests so please forgive my ignorance. Would the energy release inside the gel block be greater if the gel was stabilized so as to prevent the jumping around on the table. Or is the gel taking into consideration and simulating what would happen to a live target? Just curious.

.40 has a ton of R&D behind it, a hood street record. It deserves its place with the others.

40 will always be relevant and "alive" regardless of what the majority of sheeple say about 9mm and 45acp! People carry what everyone else carry because they're unable to think for themselves and too lazy to look at numbers and tests. 9 and 45 can't touch 40 ballistic capabilities. This is my EDC, woods, and hunting ammo. I took my biggest buck with this ammo at 15 yards. It's hotter than most 10mm these days. I don't doubt it would put down a black bear.

Those seem like highish energy .40 getting up to weak 10mm, if I'm not mistaken. I liked seeing the similar results between the 2 barrel lengths. Thanks for always giving it to us straight, no matter who's name is on the box. That's what I love the most about your channel, keep up the honest work!

The projectile looks like a Zero Bullets product but theirs is listed at 125gr. Zero bullets does a large business in selling new manufactured ammo to LE departments and providing re-man loads loaded to the same specs for practice. Even allowing departments credit for returned brass.

Thank you so much for these tests! Not sure if you take requests but i would love to see the AAC 70 gr TSX and the AAC 77 gr TMK - or the federal xm556fbit3 !! Thanks again!

Those are federal HSTs. I personally run 147 in all my pistols. Expansion tests are nearly identical from micros up through 5" duty guns.

Thanks for showcasing this ammo. I just bought my first 40 S&W and this is one of the rounds I was thinking of carrying. The other is the Underwood 180 Nosler ASP. Maybe that can be the next round you test! 😉

If the 147 grain is subsonic, then that means it doesn’t crack from breaking the sound barrier, which means I can just go for 147 grade 9 mm instead of 45 ACP?

When you said that .25 had a three inch barrel I was a little blown away because my EDC 10mm is rockin a 4 inch barrel and is the size of a glock 19. Sometimes the size of things gets confusing while you're looking at them through a camera. 3 inches seemed like it was big for a .25.

Older Underwood always exceeded advertised velocity in all calibers even with 4” barrels. I still have some 10mm in 155 gr that averages 1561fps out of a G20. Case bulging could be why they’re not as hot anymore. I use Storm Lake barrels which have tighter chamber support. Always enjoy your content.

Honestly, I'm rethinking 300blk all together. Even subsonic, 7.62x39 can be loaded up with a 255gr subX bullet, which is better than the 190-220gr for 300blk. 255 is more power delivered at 1050fps. And lighter rounds (supersonic) perform better too. I thinking on it, but I'm struggling to really see the advantages to 300blk. Would love to know your thoughts. Thanks -GuyA

If I can choose, it would be 7,62x39 with some Gold Dot tipe of bullet loaded to maximum velocity. If not ...223 with 62grs Gold Dot loaded to maximum velocity.
