Could be just my rifle, but PMC XTAC m855 has been wonderfully accurate out of my rifle. M o a or less as long as I don't mess it up. I have the same results with a little bit of match ammo I had lying around. It shot worse. And m193 don't shoot worth a shit out of it either. Which is perfect because SG ammo has it for 44 cents per round shipped in thousand round case.

This feels like a double fail. The projectile that expanded didn't penetrate enough and left me questioning whether or not it would be effective at incapacitating anything. The projectile fired from the smaller gun that failed to expand penetrated perfectly but you can achieve that type of performance with most round nose FMJ in these light calibers. Ultimately I feel the mouse guns and the anemic calibers they fire already mitigate the potential for collateral enough to not really need to get a reliable expanding bullet.

Thank you for all the content! You should expand your collection to some PCC's. We could compare some velocities out of 10", 12', and/or 16" barrels.

The 45 ACP 1911 has always been the handgun I’ve always wanted. I cannot afford the original which makes me very sad.

I don’t understand I’ve never seen ANY review/test with critical defense .380 that showed this poor of results nor have I heard someone say it’s a terrible round. They always perform the best from what I’ve seen with most .380 loads. With the short pocket pistol barrels sometimes they struggle to expand, but I’ve never seen them have ZERO expansion. Very weird. I wonder if they changed the load maybe a little lower pressure for less recoil? Maybe a lower flash type of powder that burns slower? There have been cases like this. Federal HST being an example. The rounds from 10 years ago seem to perform much better than the “same ones” that you can buy new today.

@devin3156 7 сағат бұрын
People don’t realize even if the round doesn’t “perform well” or “expand well” or whatever. It doesn’t matter. Even if you get shot with a .25 ACP from a 1.75” barrel you’re getting plugged with a bullet.your getting shot. Any gun literally any gun is better than NO gun. As long as your gun is reliable and you can HIT your shots. Your fine.

I think the point of the Fort Scott TUI is (1) to reliably tumble (i.e., consistently), which is neither the promise nor the purpose of FMJ, and (2) to minimize or lower the risk of over-penetration, which is the biggest danger of FMJ. On both counts, I’ve seen many dozens of gel test videos where FMJs just zip straight through 20-plus inches of gel leaving little more than a pinstripe for a wound channel. For my suppressed 9mm handgun designated for home defense, I wanted subsonic ammo (for the obvious reason of not compromising my hearing and thus my situational awareness). The problem was a 9mm hollow point traveling that slow may fail to expand (as expansion is velocity dependent), causing it to neither produce the wound channel it was designed to produce nor reduce the risk of over-penetrating which it was designed to reduce. For me, Fort Scott TUI subsonic 9mm solves the problem by not relying on expansion, yet still reliably producing a respectable damage channel and reducing the risk of over-penetration.

I love the aguila ammo . I run in all my semi autos . However, I have a problem in revolvers and bolt action where the case expands and sticks and is extremely hard to get out. I have to run other ammo brand in those guns. Has anyone else experienced this?

Any difference between round points and flat points with damage?
@Dennisthemenace40
@Dennisthemenace40 9 сағат бұрын
The 380 just doesn’t have the power to expand and penetrate like most other SD calibers. If I had one, I would carry an FMJ flat point. Adequate penetration is the first priority. The flat point will crush tissue better than a round nose. It’s the best of a bad situation.

He says he doesn't care which round is better and keeps emphasizing penetration testing as the objective yet totally skews the narrative on the wound channel of the two in favor of the Punch. People are asking for the Velocitor vs. Punch bc they are interested in a self defense application, which the Punch was made for and which many use Velocitor for. Most it seems, from the comments, are not fixed on the penetration dynamic as much as the total energy transfer and wound damage dynamic. Thank you T&T for posting this video.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I started buying single six’s back in 1980 and back then they 119.00 . Still have the same 4 blue single six’s along with a couple stainless in 6.5” and 5.5’ trying to find a 4 5/8” stainless now. As for the super wrangler, if they are still holding up in another 10 years and my old ass is still above ground, maybe I’ll think about getting one then.

Thats ball park of good .357 mag loads from similar barrels, which was kind of the original goal of the .357 sig right; mag numbers from a semi auto? Im kind of surprised it's more expensive than those hst. Always thought S&B was about as cheap of ammo as you could find in brass cases

Looks like snubnose .410 ammo ranges anywhere from underpenetrating/ineffective to almost as effective as 9mm. So not really a single advantage over 9mm unless you just want something fun and different. I’ve shot one before and it was fun, but I would never consider it for serious use.

I've shot the lcp, the lcp max, the bg 2.0 & the G42. IMHO the G42 is the most shoot able. I like the capacity of the max & and 2.0 but will live with my G42. I also have a G25 & a shield EZ. These later 2 make quick follow up hits a breeze. Shot placement is easier with the last 3. I personally like the Underwood Lehigh +P for an all around carry round. It kicks like a 9mm so it's gotta be smoking. Thanks Tools.
