I just did this to my Toyota matrix (Corolla drive train) and it started up and immediately shut off when I clicked it the third time to start it 😅 I turned it back off and then on again and I’m gonna let it sit for 5 mins but I don’t know if I did something wrong or what 😂
@troysgarage4 күн бұрын
Maybe let it go 6 minutes. Just for good measure. You should notice the idle change once the computer rewrites its baseline config.

Anyone ever sit in the middle? Is the part you sit on well padded?
@troysgarage5 күн бұрын
Yes it’s also a seat. “Well padded” might be a little stretch, but my wife sat there on a few 2 hour road trips when we had bigger kids and really needed a bigger truck (which did end up getting a Ram Rebel). But it works as a seat for sure.
@Theloststreamer5 күн бұрын
@troysgarage I'd just put one of the bigger kids there halfway through. Lol

Hi bud. Just come across your video. Good to see gents like yourself servicing their vehicles. Just a side tip if you didn’t already know it on removing axles bearing collars. You can heat the collar up (medium/red) and it will follow off the axle. Don’t worry about the old bearing as you’re replacing it anyway. To install, you do the same by heating up the new collar on the axle to allow to fall onto the new bearing, however have a bottle of cold water ready to cool the collar down immediately once in place. Done. Great work mate.

@troysgarage10 күн бұрын
Sounds like there must be air in the system. “Bleed” it out by slowly turning the steering wheel all the way to the left, hold for 3 seconds, turn all the way to the right, hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 2-3 times to make sure the air gets purged. This should resolve it.

*** Hey everyone, you will want to watch a video that actually shows you everything ! Most do *** The left side tray your knee would hit needs a gentle tug to remove. Then, you will see various things, but the beige relay with many wires is the one on the farthest left. It's a bit hard to pop the relay up, so it may, or you may just want to force it off, { break it off } then tie it back in ( not a big deal where ) PS- Also be advised some videos say to disconnect the battery first, maybe use thin gloves too..

I'm wanting to do the same swap on my 400 in my 77 LTD. I want to put the firing order on the new intake like it is on the factory intake. My question is would I be better off painting the numbers on it or do you think the casting will be strong enough for me to stamp it into the aluminum?
@troysgarage27 күн бұрын
It’s a great idea. Aluminum is soft so a light stamping would probably work. I’d be careful not to really lay into it though! Maybe a vinyl sticker before the color coat, then remove the stickers and then clear coat on top to seal it. Just a thought.
@ImLerning29 күн бұрын
So I have the same car 06 Corolla CE, and my car shakes pretty heavily even at 800rpm, will doing this just set the idle to a factory default at 800? Or does is there a way to adjust it a bit higher than that? I know when my radiator fan turns on it goes to about 1200 and it’s smooth (I also don’t know why it does that, switches the fan on and off constantly). Now I have some codes that I’m trying to fix right now that might be the culprit, bank 1 too lean, two cylinders misfiring, EVAP emissions leak. Sorry for the long comment just struggling a bit trying to learn😅

Hey I’m working on a 400 motor for my 79 f250 and I get same distributor like yours but I don’t know the order for spark plugs wires
@troysgarageАй бұрын
The firing order is usually cast into the intake manifold if you are using the stock one look there. It will obviously start with 1 and have 8 total digits. You may need to clean the grime off to see it. If you can't find that you can google search for a Ford 400 timing/firing order. Just be sure that's what you really have so you get the order right.

Yes they were. It is basically a bolt on kit. Although you can also weld it. I will eventually weld all the joints to permanently install them. For now they are clamped.

Haha. Good eye mate! Kind of a long story. But that flag was selected as our team flag for the group I managed a while back. We called ourselves “Team Dundee”, a reference to Crocodile Dundee cuz my last name reminds people of another Australian based movie but I won’t give that reference for privacy reasons. 🤭
