Totally cheating lol. I have my instrument check ride coming up in 1966 6-pack Cessna 172. With a 33 year old GPS unit.

I believe this is an instrument approach. If you look closely at the guy in the left seat you’ll see that he’s wearing foggles( view limiting device) if your examiner doesn’t instruct you to go visual, (take them off) that typically means you would execute a missed approach. (Full power, climb, missed approach procedure)…or as we like to say Cram, Climb, Clean, Click, Call.

Just curious if you have a basis for comparison between the old SR20 with the Continental 200hp vs the new Lycoming 215 engine like this one is equipped with. Wondering if the climb performance is noticeably different with the extra 15 HP. Thanks in advance...

The SR22T is my favorite GA plane. I've only flown it a small handful of times, but I still hold it in high regard.

Beautiful aircraft, but that LOUD Continental motor will have the entirety of the communities below cursing you and submitting noise complaints against you. Keep this beauty on the ground.

A very modern and beautiful plane. Maybe I missed it. Is there no analog compass or artificial horizon instruments for backup ICO instrumentation failure? If the main power bus goes, will the emergency gen/bus power the digital screens? I haven't been in a cockpit in decades, but have digital instruments and the power busses they require, become so failproof that analogs are no longer needed for backup?

Hi Hifin, The Electronic standby instruments are powered by their own independent battery backup source in the event of a total power failure. The Cirrus G6 also has dual Alternators and dual ASHAR's units (Air Data & Attitude Heading Reference Systems). It's a very well thought out design for safety.

Not sure what an AHAR's unit is. Cirrus Aircraft G6 now include dual ADAHRSs (Air Data & Attitude Heading Reference Systems) as standard equipment. Previously, Air Data and Attitude Heading process were handled by separate components installed in the aircraft. In G6 aircraft the former ADCs (Air Data Computers) and AHRSs (Attitude Heading Reference Systems) have been combined into a single ADAHRS-- so what was previously four components is now two, saving weight and theoretically improving reliability.
