When I was watching this live, I was so surprised at how much was going on at one time. Because fireworks were happening past the tower, pictures and things on the buildings that line International Street and on the entrance plus laser lights and things in the fountains. My FAVORITE night show at ANY park I've been to. Yes, it beat Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom

Kings Island really honored their 50 year history in 2022 with this night time production every night complete with drones, flames and so many park history references. Disney level quality here. Kings Island is NOW one of the best amusement parks in the nation and has another great 50 years ahead I'm sure.

The lift might have broken mid show so they switch to b mode. Disney is usually “if you can run it and nothing will break further or no one can get hurt, go for it.” The other option of not running might have left guest dissatisfied, and the dragon was fine at this performance.

The dragon did work for this show I just didn’t get it on video. None of the other pyro worked.

So the b mode here is if the lift on the stage floor on Tom’s island isn’t working. They can pretty much switch the whole show on the click of a button for almost everything if that particular thing will be an issue. The show runs on a timecode (most of the tech is automated to run on time with the music.) but an operator is always there as backup and to switch to a backup file if they need (in this case the floor lift wasn’t gonna work so the stage manager made the call to the automation and light crew to switch to its b mode (lights focus differently onto the Mickey ontop the mountain, they don’t trigger the pyro, lift does not move.)
