Your pictures have a "dreamy" mood. Do you use gaussian blur or some similar technique to get that mood?

I have been trying to learn light painting. I use a mirrorless camera. I know you use a phone. My question: despite the long exposure and the long light painting, why isn't the subject blown out? Is it because you are using a phone instead of a camera? Congratulations on your job.
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE2 ай бұрын
There are a few setting on these cameras and even mirrorless cameras. It is called additive light. Meaning, the camera will measure the photo and what is exposed and only apply more light to the photo if it is there. This a difference between a long exposure where that is constanly exposing the light. I might go over this in another video. So olympus has a light painting mode that is additive where only the brighter parts of the image are processed and the lower parts of the image are kept the same. Hope this makes sense stay tuned for more explanation and examples. Thanks again.

Hey, if I use the different colors on my flashlight on my still life will I get those same colors? I’m shooting with my iPhone 15 Pro Max and using even longer app. I just got a mini flashlight with 4 different colors (green; red; blue; white). Thanks!
@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE3 ай бұрын
for the most part. You have to be careful and play with it. It is kind of an art. If you expose a blue light long enought it will become white. Red longer than needed turns pink. Try it out.

@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE5 ай бұрын
ahh ok, make sure you have a sturdy tripod and it does not shake. Remember any shake is going to blur the image. Also loss of color can be done in post. So you can try some of my editing videos which could help you increase brightness , contrast and saturation. Hope this helps some.

@MAKE_PHOTOGRAPHS_EVERYWHERE6 ай бұрын
sorry for the late reply my friend. yea I am using a few different hdmi stand along monitors. Basically any will do. I like a 12 inch monitor. I use an iphone adapter that goes from the iphone to the monitor on a different stand. I phones have changed alot so just an FYI all the phones have some type of unique adapter you will need to ask your local store what works. Seems like every time i turn around apple has added some new type of port or connection piece. I cant say the monitor brand but there are many affordable monitors on amazon for like $100.00 .. Use whatever you have. Most the time, i just move around to the back of the screen on my iphone to see what is going on. Thanks again.
