I'm a state employee and just filed for unemployment because my teleworking ended on Friday and I did not want to use my own leave. I also have a child home from school. I'm very confused and wonder if I did the right thing. Should I have applied for the mentioned federal leave? So very confusing and management knows nothing and has no interest in helping their employees within their bureau!

This video is terrific. I am a human resource analyst and a volunteer on the hotline answering employee questions on the impact of the COVID-19 situation, and it is clear that our Commonwealth employees are very concerned about this situation. This is a very clear and concise message that may help a lot of folks address their concerns. Kudos to the team who put this together!

At the .21 mark of this video it says to support those that are still working or teleworking this was put in place ( or something like that)...does this mean this is NOT for people who are not working from home or teleworking? Also I called the hotline number twice spoke to two different people and they both said we DO NOT have to use all our leave first before applying for unemployment benefits. Also on the FAQ'S section on the website, is also states we do not need to use all our leave first, if you do not want to, before applying for unemployment. Can you clarify all this? Thank you!

I am a parole agent in state prison. A few more employees just tested positive today. My children are in High school and schools are closed. Would I qualify for emergency leave as I have a 15 year old with IEP. Is their an age specified for staying home under this policy?

@@donnavirgilio3424 You should talk to your agency HR contact. The hotline staff won't be able to answer your specific concerns because your agency is one of several for whom some exclusion from the emergency child care leave provisions exists. Only your agency HR office can assist you with this issue. Stay safe and healthy- best wishes Donna.
