Those are brutal male circumcision . My late elder brother marriade a Gishu woman before getting circumcised ( meaning he was a boy, not a man fit to marry) He refused to visit her parents to perform traditional visit or introduction or mariage. He used to hide each period of circumcision before some Gishu tribal men got to know about it and would chase him until he locked himself in house. At one time i thought they were chasing a thief or a wild animal with pangas and knives when i saw my bro running supersonic speed , passed me and locked himself in the main house of our parents. Ever since then, I fear them passing by even thou I got hospital circumcision and Im not married to a Gighu. Just the sound of the war cries and drumming scare you out of your normal senses.

In Kenya, all the Luo identify themselves with the Luo identity, while the Acholi are the majority of the Luo in Kenya, followed by Alur, Padhola, Biito/Chope and Lango respectively, they prefer to use the Luo proper language that unifies all the Luo groups in Kenya and Tanzania (8.5million people). This was after serious battles among the Alego-Seje Clan (Acholi), Karuoth (Padhola) and the Ugenya Kager (Alur) and the threat of assimilation of the Owiny People (Padhola)...
