Since he was arrested in Pennsylvania, he needed a Pennsylvania lawyer. This guy will likely represent him for the extradition back to New York and for any charges in PA. Once he is back in NY, he will need a NY lawyer. Plus, he has a point about setting a bail, the law calls for one, the judge needs to set one. Set it at $100 billion and let the appellate court stick their necks out to reduce the bond.

I absolutely love right to repair, I work in customer service for an HVAC company that locks EVERYTHING down behind the HVAC techs (even air filters), and I get that you don't want a layman playing around with gas lines or refrigerant, but simple stuff like blower motors and UV lights should be fairly accessible IMO, now if people do stupid things, let them win stupid prizes, let people live and die by their own IQ again! I also think we should stop putting warning labels on everything under the sun, if you even considered eating a tide pod you clearly need to learn that lesson the hard way, let natural selection do it's job, we've denied it of it's function for far too long, it's just a matter of time before nature comes back with a vengeance.

The IL supreme court has given county DAs absolute control of the state's court system. All a DA has to do is drop charges if she doesn't want her friend to ever face prosecution. The DA didn't adjudicate him guilty or not because she didn't have that authority. She also never attached jeopardy because she didn't have that authority.

Jussie Smollett should not be charged again on grounds of double jeopardy, however all of the prosecution should all be disbarred and publicly shamed, this whole debacle was obviously political corruption.
