There are strong rumours that Ted Nugent (Turd Nugget) was beaten up onstage at Cal Jam 2, and his screams were picked up by microphones. All very nasty, but he of course deserved the punching. The attacker was angry at Nugent's insults aimed at women. The man was assumed to be a bouncer, so he escaped prosecution. I have a tape of Foreigner's set, and a news bulletin mentions the beating-up of Nugent, who ended up with a huge black eye.

Your thorough research on APP is outstanding. APP was my second Tull concert in 1973 and the anticipation build up to the introduction remains the most explosive concert intro I’ve ever watched. The US audiences proved the critics wrong as this record was widely popular. The shame of it all is nobody had the foresight to accurately film and record these epic performances!
@sp10682 ай бұрын
Have a theory that the classic rock songs with the most stereo effects, edits, special effects, etc. are the worst recordings, because that tape was just messed with so much. Band members and mixing engineers in there, smoking usually, just messing and touching that tape - back and back, back and forth, splicing and just basically screwing with it for so many hours. Blinded By The Light is another recording that sounds like it was recorded on a Certron cassette with the orange swirl. This particular song sounds as though it had recorder alignment issues or they saturated the vocals on the intro badly. This mix does sound like some of that was attempted to be fixed, but idk how someone would.

damn ole Jeffery Hammond is a total stage spaz ! and I mean that in an excited position way! i mean the guy is always moving , doing really cool jumps and bass in your face moves, it really adds to the whole band , as they are very animated , I mean in order to play at that level of skill and progressive movements, one must go all in , like not one player is half assing it, and can I imagine going full speed , all night every night for 6 months!?! no wonder they don't party, who needs to get artificiallyhigh when you getting completely blitzed off natural adrenalin and frequency overload!!!

Can anybody find me somebody to love? Ooh (0:31) Each morning I get up, I die a little Can barely stand on my feet take a look in the mirror And cry Lord, what you're doing to me? I have spent all my years in believing You But I just can't get no relief, Lord Somebody Ooh, somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? I work hard Everyday of my life I work till I ache my bones At the end I take home my hard-earned pay all on my own I get down on my knees And I start to pray Till the tears run down from my eyes, Lord Somebody Ooh, somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? every day I try, and I try, and I try But everybody wants to put me down, they say I'm goin' crazy They say I got a lot of water in my brain No, I got no common sense I got nobody left to believe Ooh, somebody Can anybody find me somebody to love? got no feel, I got no rhythm I just keep losing my beat I'm okay, I'm alright Ain't gonna face no defeat I just gotta get out of this prison cell Some day I'm gonna be free, Lord Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love-ove-ove Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Somebody, somebody Somebody, somebody find me somebody to love Can anybody find me somebody to love? Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me, find me, find me Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me somebody to love Find me, find me, find me

I've paid my dues Time after time I've done my sentence But committed no crime And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand Kicked in my face But I've come through And we mean to go on and on and on and on We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World I've taken my bows And my curtain calls You brought me fame and fortune And everything that goes with it I thank you all But it's been no bed of roses No pleasure cruise I consider it a challenge before the human race And I ain't gonna lose And we mean to go on and on and on and on We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World We are the champions, my friends And we'll keep on fighting till the end We are the champions We are the champions No time for losers 'Cause we are the champions of the World

Your documentary represents hours of labor and research. I thank you for your time and efforts. In my late teens, I saw APP with friends in Los Angeles. Although having listened to the LP previously, I was stunned with the stage performance. Well choreographed activities, lighting, and balanced sound. Yes, it's unfortunate that quality video recordings were not available at that time. However, it is like comparing a photograph of the Grand Canyon to actually being there. One cannot grasp the spectrum without seeing it in person. Your work brought back memories from those years past. On a final note, upon hearing Benefit and Stand Up, I bought my first dictionary to better understand the lyrics and later purchased sheet music to follow the time signatures and chord progressions. The band, for me, was inspirational. Aqualung solidified some of my beliefs. Thanks again for your efforts!

unfortunately, not in KZbin anymore. Genesis' management have been at work taking down content (including a Lamb Tour concert video I had), so I'm risking a copyright strike if I ever upload content using the music.

This is the greatest album in my collection. I first got a copy when I was about 12 years old and it still excites me to this day to hear it. There's a lot of info here (specifically the lighting, the sound reinforcement, and the keyboard, bass, and guitar amplification) that I never knew. I'm not sure if anyone had done full-range speakers for the bass before this. I remember reading that that Moog Modular was good out to 100kHz and care had to be taken to not blow tweeters. I hope maybe someone will do a breakdown of what all is going on with the Modular during the show; it gets leaned on pretty hard.
