Please! Never apologise for not liking this album. Some people were disappointed when Let it Be came out, an album which I absolutely love, but when I bought this album, and it pains me to call it an album, to say I was disappointed is an understatement as I felt cheated, and still do, that I actually paid money for this. If John Lennon had put this out as a free album or even whatever it cost to produce that’s okay but for him and Yoko to make royalties on it, obviously not that much, is daylight robbery. I still have this vinyl album that I bought in the late 70s and often think of selling it to get my money back but as an avid Beatle fan it’s part of my collection and I still have the memory of how excited I was when I first bought the album until I got home and then I played it?????

Haven't listened to it in awhile, but always enjoyed it. Remember, it's "unfinished music". The listener is supposed to add to it.... participate in it... I remember it being.... elevating. But isn't that what The Beatles always did? "Hey guys, come join us! The view is great from up here." :)

An original copy would be nice to have as an historical artefact all these years later. But musically it's absolute junk with no merit whatsoever. It disproved the theory going around at the time that if you put Lennon or McCartney on a record it would sell. 😀

Very good video Chlozycat! You always pick interesting topics and albums. I don't think anyone would say they love this album but it's possible, I guess. I think it's the one where he whistles in it which is my favorite thing about the album. I have listened to it twice all the way through. I never lived in England but the album sort of transports a person into John's home around that time period. Also, when I was a kid, we had a few record stores in town, and I remember it being in the window of the shop in a brown paper cover. John is such an interesting guy and had a lot of guts! Thanks again for the review. You are my favorite! Russ

I have a US Zapple label release. I found it in a thrift shop back in the 70's. For awhile, the album became a collector's piece fetching lots of money. I has been pirated many times over. As for the content, WHY? It only took John's genius a few steps down.

Hello from Canada 😀. You must be a huge Beatles fan to own this on two different formats. I've been a massive Beatles nut for over 60 years and have only heard, like George, bits and pieces of Two Virgins, which is enough for me. I do own the Wedding Album box set, however. Can't recall why I purchased it, but it is a collectors item I suppose. // New Beatles doc announced today. Beatles '64 on Disney + Nov 29. Hopefully some new footage included. Already own "The First US Visit" and the Sullivan shows on DVD.

It has a lot of good moments but it cohesively, it was lacking. At the time I was a 13 y.o. Beatles fan. I think I can speak for a lot of Beatles fan at the time, saying we were devastated by their break-up and were starved to hear any music from them as solo artists. It satisfied that "fix" at the time, but the test of time hasn't been so kind to it. Still there were many GREAT moments to come on future albums and he really had to start somewhere and he did thankfully.

Frank Zappa is a very deep rabbit hole to explore. I'm a first time viewer to your channel. You sound like your an open minded person who would appreciate the strangeness and brilliant universe of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. 200 Motels is a strange entrance into Zappa's music though it even includes a few rockers along with a lot of symphonic dissonance. My favorite moment from the film is the Cal Schenkel produced animated clip "Dental Hygiene Dilemma." Something lighter and more "first time listener friendly" would be his three early to mid 70s albums "Overnight Sensation" " Apostrophe" and "One Size Fits All" You can't go wrong with any or all of them. "Does this kind of life look interesting to you?"

My all time favorite is not on your list: As We Go Along, a Micky song from the Head soundtrack. Porpoise Song from that film is also great. I also love the Nesmith trio from the PAC&J album: Salesman, Love Is Only Sleeping and The Door Into Summer. Third, I'm partial to the fast version of I Wanna Be Free from the Monkees pilot episode. Finally, honorable mention to some of the songs they recorded during their various reunions over the years; That Was Then, This Is Now (1986), Heart And Soul (1987), You & I (1997) and She Makes Me Laugh (2015).

I think it was the first extensive collaboration for Zappa with a classical orchestra. He probably wanted Ringo Starr in it because he liked Ringo. And he liked Keith Moon too. The music is very interesting. Zappa was a modern classical composer who financed his classical pieces via his Rock output and live shows. The movie itself is somewhat abstract and much of it is inside band folklore information and video editing experimentation.
