Plot twist: it was friendly fire, Hamburger Hill style.

And we wonder why the USA never fully accepted that they lost that war. Since it's end it has been used in all sorts of mediums to romantize it to soften the scars it left. Skinner is not skinner also what the fuck???

Love Converge but this isn't good. Their Depeche Mode cover is better.

Fond memories of '79. This album came between Inner Secrets(1978) and Marathon(1980). Carlos was very productive during that time, and this album was a result of his exploring new and different musical horizons and I think it is exhilerating.

I like how the VC in that flashback shot at Johnny in particular, instead of strafe fire at the whole crew, it's like their objective was just to traumatize Skinner, lol

Winter, 1978. I bought this album on a whim, at the local record store, though I only knew a few Santana tunes at the time. Popped it on the turntable (thats right kiddies, we had these things called record players . . . but I digress), and filled a big bowl, hit play, lit the bong and then lay back on my bed to let the waves of music in the song's intro just wash over me. My skin began to prickle as the guitar came in, at almost the same time as the weed hit. It was like something I had never experienced before. When Carlos cuts loose around 2:00 . . . My mind was simply overwhelmed. That sort of speed and precision was impossible, and yet utterly exhilarating. The guitar just took over my mind. I swear for a moment I thought I could see God. . . . Or at least Sri Chinmoy in a pink tuxedo. I cant really say for sure. I just lost all sense of time and space, as that soaring guitar solo blew my mind to tiny shreds. . . . The music trailed off, and the next song on the album (Life is Just a Passing Parade) began ... and the spell was broken. As the vocals came in, I realised that I had left the turntable set to 45rpm, and was playing the Oneness album which was 33 1/3. That impossible guitar solo actually WAS impossible. But for those few breif moments when I thought that it was real . . . 😋 Set the playback speed to 1.25x, close your eyes, and youll see what I mean.
