Reading 38 books in a year is more than great, so don't be too harsh with yourself! I'd like to give you two book recommendations. The first one is "we created you in pairs" by Lina H. Fredj and from what i know (because unfortunately i haven't been able to read the books yet) this is a romance series and both characters are muslim. 3 books in total, i think the 3rd one came out recently or it will be out this month. . Then we have "sweetpea" by C.J. Skuse. This is a darker crime/murder series with a female serial killer protagonist, 5 books in total. Also the author loves to use dark humour. I'm only mentioning it because some people don't like it. The truth is that I've only read the 1st book and I didn't quite like it, however a few of my friends have read the whole series and are obsessed with it. So i think I'd love to hear your thoughts on it if that's something you could see yourself reading (it's been recently adapted by skytv as well). Oh and the author is currently writing a spinoff for that story. Long message again, i can't help it 😅 Happy new year and may you soon have your book in your hands!

That Funny Story video of yours never gets old. 😂 (Read the book, really a fun time.) We need you in the Malazan fandom! First of for your insightful discussions about the books but also I would love to see an interview with Steven Erikson and you here. As for scifi I recommend for you Perdido Street Station by China Miéville. Its writing is marvellous and the story is some weirdness yet done wonderfully. In the departments of social commentary Banks - Culture it’s a series but can be read as standalones. You could start at Player of Games or Use of Weapons. Not YA choices but for sure some of the master writers.

omg "The Silent Patient" was SO bad. the ending was the MOST predictable thing ever, these characters were hella shallow, and i couldnt care less about anything going on.

I am very thankful for your opinion about The Silent Patient cause it is so popular :D I had to force me to get to the ending - and it did not make up for all the nonesense, anoying/uninteresting (/page-wasting) characters and stupid representation of psychotherapy/mental illness🙈 what thriller do you recommend? are you going to do a tier ranking list video?😊

The best booktube series is back y'all!! The "current owner of [...]" gets better every time 😂 Honestly i love your takes, and it's not about agreeing or disappearing but it's about the arguments you use (and your train of thought in general). Honestly you gave me a whole different perspective of the love triangle i hadn't considered before. Some tropes would just be so much more interesting if they were done reversed. Once i had found a list of reversed tropes that was hilarious (multiple beds for example). The whole enemies to lovers thing is just so annoying. If the characters disagree on something in one scene of the book, people call it enemies to lovers (😒) TRAUMA👏🏻DOESN'T👏🏻EXCUSE👏🏻ABUSE, ma'am i had to put my phone down and give you a round of applause. Looking forward to the next one!

Just discovered you and I'm obsessed 😍 This is motivating in a way I can't explain. I have a question tho: How do you stop yourself from editing while writing? I know the first many drafts are gonna suck, but I can't stop myself from going back and fixing as I go, so I get stuck on the first chapters and never move on. (I'm gonna try the handwriting method, something about it speaks to me, and I think it might be the solution) But if you have any other advice, I'd love to hear it 😊 Love from Denmark 🇩🇰
@celineistalking16 күн бұрын
Thankyou! I was like that too when I was typing it which is also why I kept experiencing major writers block. I have 2 pieces of advice: 1- give hand writing a go because once you get into the flow of that you won’t want to stop & because it’s handwritten you can’t really go and keep amending sentences. It’s also helpful to have a really shitty draft once you’ve already got the whole story down because it means your edits in the other rounds will not only come easier but will also make more sense to the plot 2. If you’re typing and you can’t stop, think of it sort of as if you’re cooking. You’ll probably make mistakes or use the wrong measurements, but you won’t know what really actually needs to be fixed till the meal is nearly done because it all has to come together first!!

Hand writing your first draft is INSANE bro, next level dedication. I struggle with writing enough so that might be the key I'll give it a go.

04:27 Colin has been raised in a household where his every single achievement has been mocked. He has a deep self doubt, and fears people who say positive things about him are just lying. This is one of his nightmares, and part of him EXPECTS those to come true. Just as he desperately desires love but believes himself unworthy of same.
