Okay I found the solution, for your case you would have to use the following formula: =HOUR(B16)+INT(B16)*24

I would use: =FORMAT(B16,"[h]")+0 +0 to change text to number

@@ExcelAndAdam Okay cool, I changed the formatting in the settings to instruct excel to understand that the amount of hours in hh:mm:ss are allowed to be more that 24 hours in this case. Thank you for responding.

I’ve looked at a number of flash full videos and you are the first I’ve seen that has shown the trick with having flash full substitute a character for inconsistent records. That is way, way cool, and solved a problem I was having of extracting middle initials from a list where the resent always a middle initial. I did find that the first record needs to have a middle initial or it doesn’t seem to work, but when working with large data sets, I could easily add a fake MI in the first record to invoke FF, then remove it. Thanks for this video!
