@@dsc0tt2012 we have a department solely dedicated to this recall right now. They help out a lot when it comes to simplifying whether or not the vehicle will need a crank or just bearings. If your car doesn’t fall under the recall, then more than likely it’s not affected. If your engine is knocking I think it’s beyond measure and it’s best to get it properly diagnosed by a trusted tech.

Paint on a floor has no affect on work quality. If that dealer is managed correctly and pays techs a bigger share of labor charge then they are doing the important stuff right. I worked for a car manufacturer and clean and shiny work area did not equate to good work and happy customers.

Torque to spec 😂 My other torque was literally snapped in half. Had to make do with what I had lol

Hey man, it’s something you can really only see when the rod bearings have been removed. Other then that a bottom end knocking noise, or visible metallic particles in the oil , a consumer wouldn’t know. The dealers if I’m not mistaken, are sending out notices to the vehicle with affected VIN ranges. So I guess check your snail mail.

I’ve been a tech for 10 yrs and that’s a rookie mistake. I lay them down in accordance to how I take them off. My brain works differently and it’s the best way for me
