What about winning the lottery? Say 30 million on your bankaccount, watch how less anxious thoughts you have. I think real spiritual people are rich people.

Your worries recenter around managing and keeping that money. Being attached to it makes you fear losing it. Your worries will just change unless your perspective on worries changes.

I enjoyed the examples about the tree and the table being so much more than one of its parts. It really brought this concept of attention to life for me. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻

Allowing this non conscious field to make my life happen instead of I making myself make my life happen. Being supported, held by this non conscious field. Allowing to be aware and absorbed. What a learning. Thank you so much.

Thank you! Yes, i can find some knowledge what a Buddha would do in my mind. But as well i can imagine a huge number of cases where i do not know what a Buddha would do. Lets speak about peace. is it enough to strive for my own inner peace? Will this bring cosequences in the word? Or do i have to stand up and speak out for peace? Which actions could be in line with a buddhistic view? Should i pay taxes for an administration in a state that seams to head towards war? This is just one example and there are so many.

So Right Me Mine and I..wants to go on and on..in the attention society..condition like Pavlov dogs...feeding of the present without any knowing or differentiation from subject and object distractions..I'm very worried but this is the context of our culture. Being free of false choices is no way to be free. And your right it is going to get worse as the traps are expanding by machine language which we are told are intelligent.

Thank you! Again you made an impression on me. ;-) I studied Buddhism now for many, really many years and practised meditation and continue doing so... But it all was mediated by screens and there never was the experience of a real, embodied sanga here and now. This talk now was a huge impact and following insight that it has to change. Could you give me any advice?

I’ve appreciated many previous talks, but this was challenging to watch and hear. The title being “Don’t worry, be present” when all I could hear was worry, concern and “things are going to get worse.” Was this purposeful irony? I heard “unwanted disturbing feelings” which is what this talk brought up in me. The worry about the world that I have no control over. We are actively evolving and adapting in this environment of social technology advancement. Even if it’s inevitable that it gets worse, it doesn’t feel right to think about that. That feels like unnecessary suffering.

I’m currently struggling with might be long covid, so that short reflection at the beginning on health and illness was nice. Illness caused by viral and bacterial infections is an interesting way to conceptualize ultimate and relative truth. In one sense, we can observe the ultimate through the interconnectedness of the virus with the rest of life and indeed our own, as you stated. Relatively, however, this virus is causing us pain and if bad enough, is a threat to our life and therefore it is causing fear. In a way it feels right to stay with the relative. The physical sensation of the effect of the virus feels relative to me and my own life.

Completely agree, bodily fullness, inhabiting all your space and more up to the horizon in those exuberant moments....full attention in our culture has a lot to do with being alert detecting dangers or faults that our restless minds already give ugly names to. With bodily fullness that already carries a unified engine, a heart that pumps, even if it is wrong, it is always a lived experience.

I am reassured that you speak of thought as a map and not the territory. For many spirituality is to love without conditions, sometimes the bar is so low and so unreal, where there is no room for intelligence...more like propaganda slogans. I am a philosopher and my way of thinking for myself is with my whole body, with my experience at all the levels I embrace. It is more like a focused visualization that juggles without jumping to conclusions. Jonglieren, for which I need to go into stillness.... It is not just the intellectual faculty, nor pure mathematics.... It is going into an intelligent space with the intuition on.... Greetings

I would say that our mind, or an important part of it, an operative self wants to control the unforeseen....as to not feel in the stomach or in the nervous system that trembling, that being in the air, before the uncertain. Facing that narrow space of the self, that fear, learning to relax in that cold, to feel the warmth of being here... in a way I discovered that the body knows how to do it if I let it be.... The times are raw, and it is necessary to practice their opposites.... To look inside and bring out again the will to be and its friends. Complexity is reduced with a little more confidence, being clear that in the chores of the day there will be mistakes, and rigorously telling the Alter Ego to shut its mouth.

It is very interesting what you say about the experiences (rather mental) of enlightenment, feeling powerful and having a somewhat aggressive letterhead .... It happens, and it is not to be despised....but there is no transcendence....and I do not think they are enlightenments....sometimes we are like children....goes the mental fantasy two steps ahead and the soma swollen.... Or the empty body, just opening....doesn't feel right either. It's something else....

The rich and powerful businessmen ( Milliarden winners ) and other sometimes very criminal circumstances .... are not equal to any other citizen before the law. They are above it, no matter how many die for an economic order. So, this is the social and political world in the West. I came to meditation by necessity.... without knowing what or why, I sat down to breathe, opening inner floodgates, to feel a freshness that nourished. Such was the tension and stress at that time. I have a very pregnant sense of justice. With meditation I have been able to situate myself better in the contexts. And I am happy how the unwritten laws of God or the Tao are. I am no longer weighed down by the world so much....I can even forget about it....however these last few years, they have been cruel... so I meditate more

Now, with subterranean spaces, I fly with my granddaughter, but in reality, the anchor of my body, carefully trusts the divine to follow its course. And I enter the situations, with my vision open, looking at where the hinges are...

Precisely because for many years I lived this process vividly, devoted to trust, raising my children, with my husband, precisely because I embodied this feeling of fulfillment and confidence, the reality of recent years gave me strength and I broke my nose, in a way the soul .... even knowing down there the voice of instinct. My dear master, the world has changed But we are still in the Middle Ages, with the powerful waging wars to steal resources, eliminate entire populations, with forbidden bombs and exorbitant profits. Corrupt politicians with Peace Prizes and medals for eliminating entire populations. That's the outside...isn't it better to know? It makes a difference to know how things are, the spiritual ethical intentions...

I am the eldest daughter in a large family.... had a day full of chores. That's when I learned to have that field of vision without focusing my eyes on anything....being in the body, with some contact that came and went. That's when you realize that there are things you do with joy simply because they bring joy. I like working with the body. That is why I learned Qigong.... I like the energy that is calm, with soft eyes, and the one that appears as if sculpted in hard crystal. I had my difficulties in meditations....now that I am a grandmother, I seek them more and for many hours. I am so glad to hear from you....helps me understand myself better. They really resonate with me and I realize how little I have valued those abilities. It helps me to balance the way I am in my context....finally many things and connections that occur to me and depending on the day and time I welcome them with wide vision and soft eyes....and I know I will forget until I resurface again...

The truth is that we are not very well documented .... I read many books, on topics that I think are important and after years of study, I usually have discursive intuitions of where a topic is moving. Before giving an opinion, and that is today, a risky situation, which also has its political and sociological reasons of being .... I ask if you really want that analysis, because most do not have the real desire to know about any important issue. It is one thing to have an opinion, in English it maintains a conditioning, a current connotation that differs greatly if it were said in German, meine Ansicht, or in Spanish, mi parecer se deriva ...et cetera... So as a good practitioner without nullify that I like to converse, I stick to the moment and its context. The truth is that we are very manipulated with the so called media. It's better to know about a contextualized topic than to have opinions.... Today we use language in a utilitarian way, we reduce reality to symptoms...conditioned by decades of slogans about things, emotions and feelings, with hardly any soul, inspiration would be the actual word.... as little is accepted of invisible realities..... It is the great conditioning, difficult to escape it.... better to realize it. That's why I like German....and I'm Spanish....all in favor of the amplitude....
