HI Salty, so glad to see that you guys are OK. We've not met but there were prayers for you and family and also the others on that live in the island. It was heartbreaking to watch some of the drone coverage. I still have not driven there yet. Great video as always and thanks for the pointers on the Hogfish. I too have never caught one. Take care, Jules.

Thanks for this Salty, We live around the corner near GT Bray and our condo was untouched amazingly. It’s very easy to pick a restaurant between Cortez and Manatee when we feel the urge to eat out. This really opened my eyes to what’s out there as I am native to Sarasota and Bradenton is still somewhat foreign. I can tell you have a heart for your community and this gave me a glimpse into the character of the man I sit next to in church. The community is blessed to have individuals who use their talents to promote supporting the locals businesses like yourself. Thank you for your insight on the blessing we have in the island and showing the resilience in the community after the tragic year we’ve had. This has further helped me seal the deal on who I’ll be using as my fishing captain. May God bless you and your family and continue to reveal to you His plans for you .

Any update when city pier will be back?
@FishingWithSalty3 ай бұрын
I’m not really sure I know the beginning of the pier looks good and the end of the pier appears to look good from a distance but the middle of the pier needs to be rebuilt so I’m not sure on a timeframe. I do know the concrete pierce on the golf side looked good when I was there.

I did hear locals talking about potentially rebuilding it. I don’t see it not happening with as much of a staple location to visit on AMI! I’m hoping they do but have not heard anything for sure on that.

Hi Salty, hope you and the family are doing well. I have not driven to the island since either hurricane as we have taking care of our own stuff. All good now in that respect. I thought about running the boat down the Manatee but concerned about debris etc under the water. In a few weeks we will definitely make it a point to visit those shops etc that you highlighted. I have watched other videos showing the aftermath. It is heartbreaking. That said though, the spirit of the people and the willingness to help is uplifting. Look forward to more video updates. Stay safe !!

Looks great. The lime "zest" probably adds more bitter to it than what you want, as the zest on a lime is very thin and you probably shaved off some pith into onto the fish. Try it w/ just the lemon and orange next time!

@FishingWithSalty4 ай бұрын
Nice I appreciate your guess we were a bit further than that. It also depends on where you’re at. We headed out of Anna Maria and headed south West we’re probably much more south than you. Which even a couple miles north or south on the shelf can make a significant difference.

I really like the vibe of this video. Moved to Florida from Michigan 12 years ago. Will be staying at a place on the beach in Holmes Beach. The plan for this trip is to chill at the beach a lot and hit a nice restaurant or two. My partner and I are in the 50+ club. Are there any waterfront restaurants that are.a bit more upscale than say a beach bar or family restaurant? We like casual places too but would love a nice romantic atmosphere if there is one.
@FishingWithSalty4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I will definitely try “The Shore” longboat key amazing vibe and delicious food. Not waterfront I would definitely go to “Waterfront Grill” although that’s the name it’s not waterfront, but it is right across the street from the water
