Great to see this. Their shot at the big time and they play two instrumentals! Shame that the credits truncate Dune Tune - the full version may turn up onthe 'From the Vaults' programme. P.S. they were also played on John Peel - allegedly.

For a VHS tape nearly four decades old the video and audio are in top notch condition. Good work, and nice to see the band playing live on TV not miming. Which TV channel was this on?

_This_ was state of the art video recording in 1991? Really? I'm sure my VHS machine was better than that.
@winman428 ай бұрын
No sure who said this was state of the art, but it wasn't me LOL. This is from a very old, poor quality vhs tape. Would love to see if anyone else has a better copy.

@@winman42 My point, which I should have clarified, is that KZbin seems to be almost the only public outlet for music concert video these days, as physical media is close to vanishing. Why are we limited to such dismal quality recordings of music that has great personal and historical value? I suspect that the original professional master of this concert has long since been consigned to landfill which is close to criminal. We need a national archive like the US Library of Congress for these.

Argh. Had this taped on Betamax(!) from when it was broadcast on the telly. The energy in this performance did/does raise the hairs on my arms. The solo Boon pulled out of his locker was very special I thought. He was the guitar hero version of a mate who doesn't talk much; but when he does, it's worth listening to. Massively influenced by his playing.

Oh I remember this. When it was released I thought that synth trumpet riff was decidedly cheesy, being just too obvious a 'catchy hook' to get radio play. Still the case today. "1st single from the "Staring At The Son" album"? Whose son is being stared at, and should I call the authorities?

You're right to want the release of Fait Accompli, but who releases Blu Ray music videos these days? We are in the decline of high-quality music concert video, sadly. There might not be a business model for it any more. It means that most acts are seen on video only through fans' phones.
