so a the citizens of Midgar are quite tiny... as the true height of Midgar is much higher... The Plates are 300 meters off the ground and the central tower is so much higher.

I think a lot of these are not right. Looking at the road layout on some of the giant ones, there is less there than some of the smaller ones and roads are not going to be KMs wide. True Crime is definitely not one of the biggest maps ever

The Elden Ring map is probably completely wrong, especially when it says "real scale" in the video title. 80km² matches the full square of the map, but the size of the explorable area is much smaller. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure it's not 80km².

This videos really make me want a "playable area" calculation. I would say a good 40% of Skyrim's calculation is beyond the playable area, even if you do count the water. GTAV sensibly has its empty water removed here, but other maps have inflated numbers because of their water with largely nothing in them. There are a good handful of games out there with massive worlds because there is no invisible wall, vut the playable are is only intended to be a small area. Should they count?

The Spider-Man map and GTA Liberty City maps have a similar design being that Liberty City is modeled after New York. This video is really cool. Ghost Recon Wildlands also has a really good map. Never knew Just Cause 4 map was so large though.

I actually love the Auroa archipelago in Breakpoint. It's nowhere near as lively as Bolivia in Wildlands, but the lore is still good, and the islands look absolutely beautiful.
